Ao Bing paused for a moment, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes, then the corners of his mouth lifted slightly. "That’s acceptable. But you need to inform me of the specific activities in advance so I can prepare myself mentally."
"Of course!" Nezha grinned widely. "I promise to give you a surprise every time!"
Ao Bing shook his head helplessly, yet there was a glimmer of amusement in his eyes. "The chances of being startled are much higher."
Nezha pretended to glare at him in mock anger but quickly broke into laughter. Ao Bing also let out a rare chuckle, and their laughter echoed in the dormitory, dispelling the tension from just moments before.
With Nezha's final suggestion in mind, Ao Bing reprinted the Agreement. The two of them took up their pens, ready to sign it.
"Wait a minute," Nezha suddenly said. "What happens if someone violates the Agreement? There should be a punishment mechanism, right?"
Ao Bing pondered for a moment. "We definitely need a constraint mechanism. Do you have any suggestions?"
Nezha flashed a mischievous smile. "The person who violates the Agreement has to agree to one request from the other party, and they can't refuse no matter what it is."
Ao Bing frowned. "That’s too vague; what if it’s an unreasonable request?"
"Don't worry," Nezha patted his chest confidently. "I won’t make you do anything outrageous. Besides, you’re so rule-abiding that you wouldn’t violate the Agreement, right?"
After some contemplation, Ao Bing replied, "Alright, but with one condition: the requests must be reasonable and cannot violate laws or school regulations, nor can they affect the other person's studies or health."
Nezha shrugged. "You’re always so cautious. Fine, we’ll add those restrictions as you suggested."
Ao Bing added the breach of contract clause at the end of the Agreement and then handed it to Nezha. Nezha glanced at it, nodded in satisfaction, and picked up a pen to sign his name in an elaborate flourish.
Ao Bing, with his characteristic neat handwriting, signed his name next to Nezha's.
"Alright, from now on, this Agreement is officially in effect," Ao Bing announced, carefully placing the document in the drawer of his desk.
Nezha stretched lazily. "I hope this makes our cohabitation more harmonious."
"I hope so too," Ao Bing replied with a slight smile.
At that moment, Nezha's phone rang. He picked it up and glanced at the screen, excitement lighting up his face.
"It's a group message from the team! There's a match at three this afternoon," Nezha looked up at Ao Bing, his eyes filled with anticipation. "Are you coming to watch?"
Ao Bing paused for a moment, then remembered the clause they had just added to the Agreement—doing at least one thing together each week. He hesitated briefly before nodding. "Alright, I’ll be there."
Nezha's eyes sparkled. "Really? That's great! I’ll make sure to perform well and show you my skills!"
Ao Bing shook his head slightly, but a smile crept onto his lips. "I’ll be looking forward to it."
Nezha excitedly began to gather his soccer gear, humming an off-key tune as he worked. Ao Bing watched him with a hint of tenderness in his eyes. Perhaps this Agreement would not only reduce their conflicts but also bring their relationship closer.
Yet beneath this seemingly harmonious surface, both of them couldn't help but harbor a doubt: could a simple Agreement truly resolve all their issues? Especially when one valued rules and order while the other cherished freedom and spontaneity—two such fundamentally different individuals forced to share the same space?
