Nezha nodded and then looked at Li Ming. "What else do you know? Does Shen Gongbao have any special abilities?"
Li Ming shook his head. "I don't know... He never shows any abilities in front of me; he just gives me those powders and teaches me spells..."
Ao Bing pondered for a moment before making a decision. "Li Ming, we won't report you to the school, but you must tell us everything you know," Ao Bing said seriously, "especially about Shen Gongbao."
Li Ming breathed a sigh of relief and nodded. "Thank you... I really don't know much. Professor Shen Gongbao is always very mysterious and never reveals too much information. He only told me that he is researching an ancient power, and those Dragon Pattern Items are the keys to unlocking that power."
"Did he mention when he would act?" Nezha asked, still keeping a watchful eye on Li Ming.
"He said... on the next full moon night," Li Ming replied thoughtfully, "which seems to be three days from now. He needs to gather all the items before then."
Ao Bing and Nezha exchanged worried glances. Three days was not much time; they needed to act quickly.
"Alright, Li Ming," Ao Bing decided, "you need to help us. Continue pretending to work for Shen Gongbao, but actually report his plans to us. That way, we can stop him and help you get out of this predicament."
Li Ming hesitated for a moment. "But... if he finds out, the consequences will be severe. He's not an ordinary person... sometimes I feel like he can see through my thoughts..."
"Don't worry," Ao Bing reassured him, pulling out a small vial from the drawer. "Drink this; it will protect your mind from being probed. As long as you don't actively disclose anything, Shen Gongbao won't know you're helping us."
Li Ming took the vial and skeptically drank its contents. Nezha released his grip on him, allowing him to sit up.
"Why do you want to help us?" Li Ming asked, confused. "I stole so much and caused such a panic..."
"Because we know you were forced," Nezha replied, patting his shoulder. "Moreover, Shen Gongbao's intentions are clearly not pure; we must stop him."
Ao Bing nodded, his expression serious. "If Shen Gongbao is indeed searching for the Dragon Clan Secret, then things are far more serious than we imagined. Those ancient artifacts are not just ordinary collectibles; they are vessels of immense power."
Li Ming looked at Ao Bing in shock, as if he was seeing him for the first time. "You... you know about this?"
"There are some things I cannot tell you," Ao Bing said calmly, "for your own safety. But please believe that we stand on the side of justice."
Li Ming took a deep breath, determination settling in. "Alright, I'll help you. Shen Gongbao has asked me to meet him in his office tomorrow; I'll try to extract more information."
"Remember, don't act too eager," Ao Bing advised. "Communicate with him as you normally would, so as not to raise suspicion."
Li Ming nodded and then stood up, preparing to leave. Nezha accompanied him to the door and patted his shoulder. "Be brave, brother; we will protect you."
Li Ming smiled gratefully and gently closed the door behind him as he left.
Only Nezha and Ao Bing remained in the room, and the atmosphere grew tense.
"So, Shen Gongbao is searching for the Dragon Clan Secret?" Nezha broke the silence first. "What does that have to do with you?"
