At three in the afternoon, the two arrived as promised at the abandoned small lake on the edge of the campus. Overgrown with weeds due to years of neglect, this place was seldom visited by students, making it an ideal spot for testing special abilities.
"This place is really remote," Nezha said, looking around with satisfaction. "No one will disturb us."
Ao Bing also scanned the area, confirming that there was no one around before walking to the edge of the lake. "Do you want to go first, or should I?"
"You go first!" Nezha exclaimed excitedly. "I can't wait to see how you control water!"
Ao Bing nodded, took a deep breath, and slowly raised his hand, palm facing the surface of the lake. At first, the water remained calm, but as Ao Bing concentrated, ripples began to form on the surface. Gradually, a thin column of water rose from the lake, twisting and dancing in the air like a miniature Shui Long.
"Wow!" Nezha gasped in awe. "That's so cool!"
Ao Bing's expression became more focused as the water column began to split into multiple small spheres, spinning in the air to create intricate patterns that ultimately formed a lifelike Dragon Shape.
Nezha watched in astonishment. "This is simply... incredible! You have complete control over the form of water!"
Ao Bing smiled slightly and waved his hand gently, causing the Shui Long to break apart into countless droplets that softly fell back onto the lake's surface, creating a delicate splash.
"That's just basic control," Ao Bing said modestly. "I can do much more, but this level is enough for now."
"My turn!" Nezha said eagerly, rubbing his hands together as he walked toward a pile of dry branches by the lake. He picked up a few and arranged them into a small heap before focusing his energy and pointing both hands at the branches.
At first, nothing happened. Nezha frowned and concentrated harder. Suddenly, a flicker of red flame burst from his fingertips and landed on the branches, igniting a small blaze immediately.
"Look!" Nezha exclaimed proudly, pointing at the burning branch. "I did it!"
Ao Bing nodded, a look of approval on his face. "Not bad, very precise control."
Nezha puffed out his chest, feeling even more confident. "Of course! I've been practicing for a long time! Watch this—"
He took a deep breath, spread his arms wide, and then quickly brought them together. With this motion, the flames suddenly expanded and then rapidly contracted, forming a perfect fireball that hovered in the air.
"Awesome!" Ao Bing exclaimed genuinely, his eyes sparkling with surprise and admiration.
A brilliant smile spread across Nezha's face as he waved his hands, making the fireball trace graceful arcs in the air, resembling a shooting star.
"But that's not all," Nezha continued to demonstrate. "I can also do this—"
He closed his eyes and concentrated all his energy. The fireball began to morph, gradually elongating and twisting until it took the shape of a fire dragon, almost identical to Ao Bing's earlier Water Dragon.
Ao Bing's eyes widened in disbelief. "You can actually create a dragon shape too?"
"Seeing your Water Dragon made me want to try and replicate it," Nezha replied with a grin. "I didn't expect it would actually work!"
The two elemental dragons spiraled in the air, one red and one blue, creating a striking contrast while harmoniously coexisting.
"Fire and water," Ao Bing murmured, "seemingly opposing forces, yet they can exist together."
"Just like us," Nezha interjected, "we have different personalities, but we can still be friends."
Ao Bing smiled slightly, but his expression quickly turned serious again. "For tonight's watch plan, we need to be fully prepared. If the other side really has special abilities, we might face danger."
Nezha put away the Fire Dragon and nodded earnestly. "I understand. But with the two of us here, what do we have to fear from a mere thief?"
