In the depths below, Xiao Hei led Mo Wen through the lava tunnels. During a brief rest by the Lava Lake, Mo Wen collected a few teeth and bones from the Lava Fire Crocodiles to craft some tools and weapons. As he examined his newly made tools, he felt like a genius. The two hook-like tools he fashioned from teeth and ribs were what he called picks, useful for climbing cliffs and trees. He tested them on the rock walls and found them quite effective. Additionally, he crafted several daggers for combat and skinning, discarding the already chipped Butcher Knife given to him by Old Lu into the Lava Lake. He attempted to refine the Yang Yan Goldstone but realized it was beyond his current capabilities. However, he was not discouraged; in fact, he was pleased because if it could be easily refined, it wouldn't be a valuable material. 0

As time passed, although they encountered a few battles, they were relatively easy. The number of Demon Beasts living in the lava was scarce; these creatures had long growth cycles and were significantly weaker than their counterparts above ground. This might be a form of degeneration, but their defenses were quite strong. Mo Wen increasingly felt that traveling underground was a good choice—there were no Chimeras, and the number of Demon Beasts was minimal; he had encountered fewer than ten on this journey. Now, he even hoped that he and Xiao Hei could simply walk out of this forest. 0

Unbeknownst to Mo Wen underground, two individuals were searching for him above ground—Lu Xun and his senior brother. 0

"It shouldn't be like this. According to what you said, no matter how fast that kid is, he should still be within this range. Could it be...?" 0

"Senior brother, I think you're overthinking it. That kid has a strong fate; it's just destiny at play. Let's go; if he's out, we'll hear about it." 0

"It seems my junior brother has made arrangements already; I was being too hasty," the Taoist realized suddenly. 0

"Since we can't find him, let's leave it be. That kid needs some experience; I actually think it wouldn't be good for him if we found him," Lu Xun did not answer his senior brother's question but felt anxious inside. If Mo Wen truly perished in this forest, it would be disastrous; yet he couldn't show his worry outwardly and could only mutter internally, "Mo, please don't really die in this forest." 0

Deep within the Melted Cave, Mo Wen and Xiao Hei continued along the Lava River. Mo Wen focused most of his attention on Xiao Hei. After swallowing two Beast Cores in one go earlier, Xiao Hei had consumed several more from their recent battles without showing any reaction at all. Even a Demon Beast that ingested so many Beast Cores would not remain unaffected; he needed to keep a close eye on this Little Guy to prevent any unexpected issues. His thoughts drifted back to Xiao Hei—who seemed very familiar with this environment and appeared to enjoy it here. However, upon reflection, he realized that when he adopted Xiao Hei as a cub, it couldn't have been here before. Something must have been attracting it here, yet they had found nothing so far. Was there something ahead? Or was Xiao Hei leading him underground merely to help him avoid the Demon Beasts above? Mo Wen pondered endlessly but could now confirm that Xiao Hei was definitely not an ordinary Beast. 0
