Twelve Prison Dragon Nails tore through the seawater, biting towards Yun Che and Xiao Qingli like living creatures. The chains entwined around the nails were inscribed with Heavenly Emperor runes, causing the water to boil and evaporate wherever they passed.
Yun Che's Xing Wen trembled violently, revealing fear for the first time—these nails had once pierced Bai Ruoyou's spine!
“Get away!” Xiao Qingli grabbed Yun Che by the collar, her damaged Fu Mo Qin sweeping out a wave of sound. The Sound Blade collided with the Prison Dragon Nails, shattering the instrument completely. She let out a muffled groan, blood spilling from her lips and crystallizing into ice: “Is this… the ‘Mysterious Ice Spell’ of the Eastern Sea?”
Bai Ruoyou's phantom laughed maliciously in the dark currents: “Do you think Xi Yue was able to track us here for no reason? Her blood has long been refined into a lure!”
Before her words faded, Yun Che felt a sharp pain in his right shoulder. A Prison Dragon Nail pierced through his Xing Wen defense, embedding itself in his pipa bone. In that instant when the runes lit up, he saw a scene from Three Hundred Years Ago:
—Bai Ruoyou was hung on an altar, the Heavenly Emperor's Messenger hammering nails into her spine one by one;
—With each nail driven in, thousands of Starfall Clan members turned into blood mist…
“This is the resentment of the Hundred Thousand Lost Souls…” Yun Che howled as he pulled out the Prison Dragon Nails, tendrils of black mist trailing from the tips. “They are devouring my memories!”
Xiao Qingli suddenly sliced open her palm, using her blood as ink to draw symbols on Yun Che's back: “Bao Yuan Shou Yi, Xing Wen Gui Xu!”
The blood symbols resonated with Xing Wen, temporarily suppressing the encroachment of the Prison Dragon Nails. She dragged Yun Che towards the crack leading to the Underwater Ruins, with the Prison Dragon Nails relentlessly pursuing them.
Inside the crack lay a sunken Starfall Altar, with a half-broken stele standing in its center. The Stele Inscription was covered in coral, but faintly visible were the words “Heavenly Gang.”
Xiao Qingli struck down on the coral, shattering it to reveal a Star Map beneath: “Drop your blood on it!”
Yun Che cut open his wrist, and as his blood stained the Star Map, the entire ruin trembled with a roar. A sandstorm erupted from the seabed, countless glowing Jellyfish converging into a giant hand that grasped at the pursuing Prison Dragon Nails.
Amidst the sand and dust came an ethereal song, as if thousands of sea demons were singing in unison.
“The Tide Guardian of the Starfall Clan…” Bai Ruoyou's phantom twisted amidst the melody. “These traitors have not yet perished!”
The giant hand crushed the Prison Dragon Nails, and Yun Che's Xing Wen suddenly broke free from control, coalescing into the battle flag of the Starfall Clan above the altar. The song grew clearer, and twelve translucent figures emerged from the swirling dust—clad in scaled armor with Xing Wen on their foreheads, they were the souls of the Tide Sound Guard who had perished three hundred years ago!
The leader of the Tide Guardians knelt on one knee, saying, "Young Clan Leader, we have awaited you for a long time."
Yun Che was taken aback. "You... recognize me?"
The souls raised their hands and pointed to his brow, memories flooding back like a tide:
—In his infancy, he had been hidden by Bai Ruoyou in a secret compartment of the altar while the Tide Guardian blocked the Heavenly Emperor's pursuers with his flesh and blood;
—In the final moment, Bai Ruoyou had cut out half of the Xing Wen and sealed it within him, while she herself was nailed to the Prison Dragon Pillar...
"The betrayal of the Saintess back then was to protect the last of the Xing Huo," one soul pointed to the base of the altar. "The true Heavenly Gang Formation Diagram is hidden here."
Xiao Qingli suddenly sneered, "What a well-crafted story. If the Formation Diagram is here, why did Bai Ruoyou massacre?"
The Tide Guardian Xu Ying erupted in fury. "The ones who committed the massacre are the dogs of the Heavenly Emperor! They disguised themselves as Saintesses to frame Xing Yun!"
Suddenly, a chasm opened in the seabed, and half of the Formation Diagram rose from the depths of the earth. Yun Che's Xing Wen uncontrollably flew toward the Formation Diagram, but at the moment of contact—
Crack!
The surface of the Formation Diagram fractured, revealing a pulsating black heart within.
"At last... I have waited for this moment."
Bai Ruoyou's true form emerged from the heart, her vertical pupils fully opened. She reached out and pierced Yun Che's chest, her fingertips grasping that half piece of Xing Wen. "My dear brother, it's time for this to return to its rightful owner."
