"Hmph! What’s so special about a broken box? I have plenty of those at home. That damn Illusionist can keep it; I don’t want it! But you, stirring up trouble, either trying to blow up the mountain or pushing Brother Qian Yi off a cliff. I want to ask you, what exactly are you plotting?!" A Li said, suddenly changing the direction of her whip that was originally aimed at her junior brother's left leg to his left arm. Caught off guard, he let out a cry of pain as the whip struck him, tearing a hole in his sleeve and causing blood to flow.
Furious, the junior brother shouted, "You son of a gun, are you trying to murder your husband?! A real man doesn’t fight with women; don’t force me to take action!"
A Li narrowed her eyes, her face turning pale with anger. "You’re talking nonsense! Today, I’ll teach you a lesson on behalf of Si Shu!"
The junior brother refused to back down and jumped around to dodge A Li's relentless whip strikes, shouting recklessly, "I see you’re just guilty and trying to kill me to silence me and claim the box for yourself! Oh damn... be careful! If this place gets damaged, your happiness for the rest of your life will be gone!"
The more he spoke, the more he provoked A Li. Initially, she only intended to give him a light lesson, to show him some authority and vent her frustration over his gossiping behind her back. So she had been holding back, striking only in non-critical areas. However, hearing his words now truly ignited her anger. She lashed out at his chest with fierce precision, showing no mercy as she forced him back against the wall.
I realized that if this continued, it would surely ruin their relationship. Instinctively wanting to mediate, I moved but felt pain all over my body as if it were falling apart. I could only shout loudly, "We’re all on the same side; let’s talk it out and not ruin our harmony!"
"Who’s on his side?! I see he’s just a damn spy sent by Illusionist!" A Li, now furious, cracked another whip that struck the stone wall beside the junior brother's ear, sending debris flying everywhere. She then swung again directly at his head.
"Damn it! You’re really going hard!" The junior brother yelled in anger and quickly ducked to evade her strike, escaping. "If I were a spy, I would have taken the box and left already! Who would still be here arguing with you? Don’t act tough; if you want it so badly, just take it directly! Who sends someone off with perfume at a funeral? You’re just exposing your true nature too quickly!" As he spoke, he touched Sheep Eye, and two black lotus flowers shot out swiftly, wrapping around A Li's whip hand. The more she struggled to break free, the tighter they became.
The junior brother laughed and said, "Hehe... once I make my move, you’ll know whether or not I’m capable! Last time I impersonated my Senior Brother, this time I'm impersonating A Li. Can’t you be a bit more creative? Next time try being a gourd baby or Iron Man or something! Just come clean; what secret is hidden in that box? Is it a treasure map or something? We’re still from the same sect; we can split it three-seven—I'll take seven and you take three!"
A Li scoffed disdainfully. "In your dreams!" She quickly switched the whip to her left hand; with a sound of Jin Ling, it wrapped around the junior brother's left arm as well. The two of them were now entangled in an absurd struggle, each refusing to let go.
The junior brother twisted his neck and shouted at me, " Senior Brother, did you hear that? She’s dreaming! Quickly capture her; this girl is definitely an Illusionist!
A Li shouted at me, " Brother Qian Yi, if we're going to catch someone, it should be him! This person is sowing discord and has a lot of issues! If you hadn't brought up the box, he wouldn't have even thought about handing it over; he definitely wants to keep it for himself! Brother Qian Yi, hurry up!"
My junior brother urged, " Senior Brother, think about what I analyzed with you. Don't let her fool you with just a few words! I don’t mind sacrificing myself, but what matters is that you must protect the Bronze box at all costs. It must not fall into this girl’s hands. "Come on, that's a reveal! Who doesn't know that?!" My junior brother chimed in. " Senior Brother, you have a triangular birthmark on your left butt cheek, and the first time you slept with a woman was..."
Hearing this, I thought, damn it, my secrets are being exposed! I quickly interrupted, "Alright, enough of this! Whoever gets the box first is who I'll believe!" With that, I tossed the Bronze box into the air. Instantly, both my junior brother and A Li rushed towards it. However, neither of them loosened their grip; their arms remained in a circle as they stood ready to catch it where it was about to land, bumping into each other as they prepared for the catch.
At that moment, a swift shadow suddenly leaped out from Dong Ya and grabbed the Bronze Square Box mid-air as it was falling. The shadow barely touched my junior brother's shoulder before rebounding and disappearing back into Dong Ya.
All of this happened in less than a second—just a blink of an eye—and the box was snatched away! No one expected a fourth person to appear so suddenly, let alone someone so fast that they seemed to be flying—because in reality, they were flying. We couldn’t even tell if they were male or female or their height or build; all we saw was a lightning-fast black shadow dart past us.
Everyone stood stunned for about two seconds before my junior brother was the first to react. He cursed loudly, "Damn it! If you have guts, don’t run!" He was about to chase after them when he suddenly lunged forward but got pulled back by A Li's Nine-Tailed Whip. His balance faltered and he stumbled forward with an "ouch," landing right on A Li.
I gritted my teeth and struggled to stand up after two attempts. I limped toward my junior brother. At this point, chasing after that figure was pointless; given the speed of that person in black, even if we had pursued them immediately without delay, none of us would have been able to catch up.
Knowing my junior brother's temperament, he would definitely blame A Li for holding him back this time. The two of them would likely end up in another fierce argument. No matter how deep their feelings were for each other, fighting like this could easily lead to misunderstandings. The road ahead would be long with many opportunities for collaboration; if there were doubts between them and they couldn't fully trust each other when it truly mattered, chaos would surely ensue.
As expected, dragging my legs along, I hadn’t even reached my junior brother when they started arguing. He blamed her for holding him back while A Li shot back equally.
Listening to them made me feel uneasy; both my junior brother and A Li were among my closest companions. Although they had quarreled before, it had never escalated to such a serious conflict. Moreover, I felt responsible for how things had turned out; if I hadn’t carelessly tossed the box out there as a trick, we wouldn’t have given that figure in black an opportunity and wouldn’t have damaged our camaraderie in the process.
I was ready to admit my mistakes and face the consequences, standing there with a dirty face in front of my junior disciples. Just as I was about to speak, I suddenly noticed one of them making a shushing gesture, his palm flashing towards me. He revealed something that looked like a compass, with a red dot flickering on it. Before I could take a closer look, he had already withdrawn his hand. Meanwhile, A Li continued to scold me from the side, saying, "Enough! If it weren't for your relentless pursuit, would we have lost the item? You must take full responsibility for this!"
