In an instant, I thought of my master, my junior brother, and the purpose of my visit to this place. Before I could meet my senior sister and Master Yue, I couldn't just die like this. I had to survive—damn it, I had to live! 0

I gritted my teeth, and a strong desire to survive suddenly filled me with strength. Tensing all my muscles, I flipped in mid-air and assumed a defensive position as I fell. I had no idea how deep it was below; if I fell straight down, my bones would shatter and my flesh would be crushed. But if I could roll as I landed, it would be different—I could at least have some cushioning. 0

Thinking this, I quickly drew my staff and swung it wildly downward. The moment the tip of the staff touched the ground below, if I reacted quickly enough, I could roll away just in time. This was my only chance to survive. 0

The cold wind whistled past my ears, but I was drenched in cold sweat. I had never concentrated so hard before; every detail of my body felt heightened, for my life depended on it! 0

Suddenly, there was a jolt in my hands as they touched the ground! Now was the time! As soon as my toes made contact with the stone surface, I pushed against the ground with my palms. Before my bones fully hit the ground, I flipped over and rolled away. My back hit the ground with a thud, absorbing all the pressure. But quickly, in less than a tenth of a second, I rolled several more times to release that pressure. I desperately endured the sharp pain while hearing a series of cracking sounds from my bones; my stomach churned violently as if I were about to vomit! 0

After about five or six seconds, as the inertia dissipated, a metallic taste surged in my throat, and I vomited blood and bile. It seemed like something hot and bloody flowed from my nose too, but I couldn't tell for sure. My mind buzzed as it hit the ground; all sensation in my limbs faded away. Everything around me was pitch black, yet it felt like everything was spinning violently; the only thing that hurt was my spine—damn it, it felt like it was broken! My body curled up like a shrimp; it was worse than death! 0

I lost track of time—maybe it was several minutes or just a few seconds—but in a half-conscious state, I heard a voice calling me through glass: " Senior Brother? Senior Brother? Wake up! Senior Brother... Senior Brother, wake up!" 0

It was my junior brother; I recognized his voice. So he really was here. Reflexively, I swung my arm as if to hit him—if it weren't for this brat, would I have had to suffer so much? 0

At that moment, he said again, "Damn it, Senior Brother! You're in this state and still thinking about hitting me? Alright, alright! Don't roll your eyes; just open your eyes and look—I'm right here! Throw your punch at me!" 0

"You... don't think I'm afraid..." I struggled to catch my breath and forced my eyelids open. My junior brother quickly extended his hand toward me and asked, "Can you get up?" 0

I didn't know where this sudden strength came from; perhaps it was fear of being looked down upon by him that fueled me. Suddenly lifting an arm that felt completely numb, I grabbed his hand tightly. He pulled with all his might, and with a shaky effort, I managed to sit up. 0

This was already the bottom of Dong Ya, and it felt incredibly spacious. The beam of my junior brother's flashlight could only illuminate the area around Dong Ya, while the rest remained shrouded in vast darkness, with nothing to reflect the light. It seemed that the space below might be much larger than I had imagined. 0

We were currently positioned right next to Dong Ya, and the ground was littered with many small stones of various colors and types. However, they all shared a notable characteristic: their edges were almost entirely worn smooth. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't have survived. Among them were a few palm-sized stones that bore rings of marks, as if eroded by flowing water; now they had dried up. Could it be that there was once water down here long ago? 0

Seeing my disheveled state, my junior brother was clearly taken aback. " Senior Brother, you really have some skills! If I didn't know better, I'd think someone pushed you down!" He rambled on while rummaging through his bag for a first aid kit, applying pressure to the bleeding spots on my face. "But I didn't hear any noise. Did you break any bones? Let me take a look." 0

He grasped my wrist tightly, causing me to wince and draw in a sharp breath as darkness momentarily clouded my vision. I nearly fainted and cursed, "Take it easy!" 0

Just after I finished cursing, he pressed down on both my ankles again. My vision blurred once more, and this time I lacked even the strength to curse back, only managing to gasp in pain. Damn it, this brat was definitely taking revenge! 0

As I was about to pass out from the pain, my junior brother finally finished checking me over from head to toe and clapped his hands together. "Well, this master has astonishing bones! Surviving such a disaster means there must be blessings ahead! These scrapes and bruises will heal in just a few months after applying medicine." 0

I was taken aback. "A few months? Am I going to be in agony for that long?" 0

"Yep, a few months! If you don't believe me, take a look at this—it's swollen up like a pig's trotter! A few months is actually generous," he said while lifting my wrist for me to see. His touch sent another wave of excruciating pain through me; my wrist had swollen to twice its normal size, looking as if a steamed bun had been placed over it. 0

He continued, "This kind of injury usually takes at least a hundred days to heal under ideal conditions—plenty of food and rest in bed—but look at our current situation: no nutritious food, no miraculous medicine, and we still have to keep doing what we need to do. Senior Brother, if your condition doesn’t worsen, you should be thanking Buddha!" 0

I retorted angrily, "Isn't this all your fault? You jumped down without even giving a warning! If it weren't for your rush to collect my body, would I need to be in such a hurry?" 0

My junior brother replied, "Who didn’t give a warning? Mona Lisa’s enigmatic smile is like Dui Er’s riddle; if you still don’t understand it, I’ll have to get you a guide dog! Besides, who would have thought that the esteemed eldest disciple of running errands could fall so badly just from jumping down less than nine hundred meters into Dong Ya? Tsk tsk tsk… what a disgrace!" 0

"That's because I suddenly saw something in the cave..." I knew I was somewhat at fault; whatever I saw had indeed startled me greatly and caused me to lose my footing. Ultimately, it came down to my lack of mental fortitude and inadequate ability to adapt. Moreover, thinking back on it now, I wasn't entirely sure that what I saw was actually a pair of eyes; it could have been something else reflecting light. It was entirely possible that my nerves got the better of me and led me to misinterpret what I saw. 0

My junior brother asked me what I saw, and I shook my head, saying, "Forget it. Why did you call me down here?" 0

Suddenly, my junior brother became serious. While applying medicine to me, he lowered his voice and said, "I think A Li has a problem." 0
