Mo Wen hoped to gain other methods from Old Lu. If he could distinguish various Laws of Power, perhaps tracing back to the origins would become much easier.
"Do you know what it means to be profound? And why is it that in this world, only one person cultivates a single path and no one has mastered all paths? Although you now wish to deduce the Yin Yang Principle through various Laws, you have already committed a mistake in your cultivation." After hearing Mo Wen's words, Old Lu realized that this young man wanted to learn more about the characteristics of Laws. However, that was impossible; he himself did not know all the characteristics of every Law and could not teach them to Mo Wen. Furthermore, as he mentioned, what Mo Wen needed to focus on at this stage was to delve deeply into a certain Law's insights. Only then would his success rate in absorbing the Law of Power into his body increase; breadth could be addressed later.

Mo Wen began contemplating Old Lu's notion of profundity. Although he had yet to reach such a profound state, reflecting on his previous actions seemed to reveal the reason behind it. His understanding of things—be it Laws or otherwise—lacked continuity; he merely skimmed over them. Once he felt he understood a Law's attributes, he would discard it and move on to grasp another Law. This approach might have caused him to miss crucial points that could serve as opportunities for insight.
In the following days, Mo Wen fell into a daze again. This time was different from before; he remained in one spot for several days. Old Lu had no choice but to restrict Mo Wen's range of activities once more. Sitting cross-legged on a tree stump, Mo Wen sensed the changes around him among flowers and trees. A seed began to sprout and gradually grew into a small blade of grass. As the Law of Life flourished, so did the grass. However, when the Law of Life reached its peak vitality, the grass started to wither as the Death Principle became increasingly pronounced. When the grass completely withered away, the Death Principle also reached its zenith—yet then the grass began to sprout again. "Life and death are inherently oppositional yet interdependent; Life's Extremes lead to death while Death's Extremity gives rise to life."
After spending another month observing the sun by day and gazing at the moon by night, Mo Wen watched as the moon transitioned from a crescent at the Beginning of the Month into a full moon and then back again into a crescent. "Profit and Loss are two extremes; when the moon is full it wanes, and when it wanes it fills." "The sun and moon are two poles; Sunrise and Sunset occur with the moon setting as the sun rises, yet there exists Sun and Moon in the Same Sky—these poles are not oppositional but can coexist..."
"Old Lu! I understand!" Mo Wen's sudden exclamation startled Old Lu.
"What have you understood?"
