Park Bucheng stood before the floor-to-ceiling window of his office, gazing down at the bustling night sky of Seoul. He squinted slightly, a sly smile curling at the corners of his mouth. Just moments ago, he had concluded an intense battle; although he had nearly stumbled, he ultimately managed to fend off his opponent with an unexpected move.
"Damn it, those bastards just won't give up," Park Bucheng muttered to himself, a glint of coldness flashing in his eyes. He turned and walked towards his desk, picking up his phone and quickly dialing a number.
"Hey, Lao Li, our plan can begin," Park Bucheng said casually, as if discussing today’s lunch menu.
A deep chuckle came from the other end of the line. "Got it, Park Bucheng. I’ll arrange for the manpower right away; we’ll make sure those sons of bitches regret ever stepping into this world."
After hanging up the phone, Park Bucheng stretched and eased his sore shoulders. Although he had won the recent fight, it had taken a toll on him. His opponent was stronger than he had anticipated; if he hadn’t used a variation of the Dragon Subduing Eighteen Palms at a critical moment, he might very well be lying on the ground now.
"It seems I still need to continue improving my strength," Park Bucheng murmured to himself, determination flickering in his eyes.
Just then, the office door was flung open, and a tall man rushed in. Park Bucheng instantly shifted into a defensive stance but relaxed when he recognized his capable assistant, Jin Taishan.
"Park Bucheng! This is bad!" Jin Taishan panted, "Li Zhenghao is causing trouble again! They’re spreading rumors online about our gang colluding with politicians, and public opinion is starting to escalate!"
Park Bucheng frowned but quickly smoothed his expression. He let out a cold laugh. "Ha! That old dog just won’t give up. Since he wants to play, let’s play hard."
He turned to Jin Taishan, a cunning look in his eyes. "Taishan, do you remember the evidence we collected before?"
Jin Taishan paused for a moment before realization dawned on him. "Park Bucheng, you mean…"
Park Bucheng nodded. "Exactly that. Now is the time to put it to use."
He walked over to his computer and began typing rapidly. Soon enough, documents and photos appeared on the screen—evidence they had previously gathered regarding Li Zhenghao's collusion with foreign forces and drug trafficking.
"Taishan, contact our cyber department immediately and release all this information. Remember to cleverly guide public opinion so that everyone focuses on Li Zhenghao."
Jin Taishan nodded in agreement and was about to turn away when Park Bucheng called out to him again.
"Wait, there's one more thing." Park Bucheng squinted his eyes. "Get in touch with that mercenary named Sofia from America. I have a task for her."
Jin Taishan was somewhat surprised. "Park Bucheng, are you sure you want to use that woman? She's not exactly easy to handle."
Park Bucheng smiled. "It's precisely because she's not easy to handle that she's more suitable for this job. Go on, do as I say."
After Jin Taishan left, Park Bucheng stood up and walked to the window. He gazed out at the dazzling lights, already formulating a complete plan in his mind.
Just then, his phone suddenly vibrated. Park Bucheng picked it up and saw an unfamiliar number. He hesitated for a moment but decided to answer the call.
"Hello?"
"Park Bucheng, long time no see." A familiar voice came from the other end, causing Park Bucheng to freeze instantly.
"Li... Li Xuanwei?" Park Bucheng could hardly believe his ears. This voice belonged to his martial arts mentor, the mysterious recluse.
"That's right, it's me." Li Xuanwei's voice remained calm. "I heard you've been encountering some troubles lately?"
Park Bucheng let out a bitter laugh. "Master, you’re still the same as ever; nothing escapes your notice."
"Remember, martial arts are not meant for power struggles." Li Xuanwei's tone suddenly turned serious. "What I taught you was to help you protect justice, not to sink into darkness."
Park Bucheng fell silent for a moment before slowly speaking up. "Master, I understand. But in this world, sometimes one has no choice but to resort to extreme measures."
"That will depend on how you use those methods," Li Xuanwei's voice returned to calm. "Remember, no matter what you do, maintain inner balance. That is the essence of Tai Chi."
After hanging up the phone, Park Bucheng fell into deep thought. He knew that the upcoming actions would be a tough battle. However, he had no other choice.
At that moment, the office door was pushed open again. Park Bucheng looked up and was taken aback.
Standing at the doorway was his nemesis, Cheng Junhan.
"Park Bucheng, long time no see," Cheng Junhan sneered as he walked in. "I heard you've been quite impressive lately?"
Park Bucheng narrowed his eyes, his muscles tensing instantly. He knew a fierce battle was inevitable.
"Cheng Junhan, you're just in time," Park Bucheng slowly stood up and assumed a peculiar stance. "Let me try out my latest martial arts understanding."
Cheng Junhan snorted coldly, "You? You think you can compete with me?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, Cheng Junhan charged forward like a flash of lightning. His fist whistled through the air, aimed directly at Park Bucheng's face.
Park Bucheng remained calm, slightly shifting his body to easily evade the fierce strike. Immediately after, he struck out with his palm at an unusual angle, hitting Cheng Junhan squarely in the chest.
"Bang!"
Cheng Junhan staggered back, disbelief etched on his face. "What... what kind of technique is this?"
A smile curled at the corner of Park Bucheng's mouth. "This is called 'Six Meridians Divine Sword,' though I've modified it to use my palm instead of a sword. What do you think? Not bad, right?"
Cheng Junhan gritted his teeth and charged forward once more. The two engaged in a fierce back-and-forth, their battle intensifying. The furniture in the office was left in disarray, but neither of them noticed, fully immersed in the heat of combat.
At that moment, Park Bucheng suddenly sensed a powerful aura erupting from Cheng Junhan. Alarmed, he realized that his opponent was about to unleash a deadly move.
"Park Bucheng, prepare to die!" Cheng Junhan roared, his muscles swelling as he threw a punch that seemed capable of shattering the very air around him.
Park Bucheng knew that if he took this punch head-on, defeat was inevitable. Just as he faced this critical moment, the words of Li Xuanwei flashed through his mind: "Remember, no matter what you do, maintain inner balance. That is the essence of Tai Chi."
In an instant, Park Bucheng seemed to have an epiphany. Instead of retreating, he advanced, twisting his body in an unusual manner and perfectly evading Cheng Junhan's fist just as it was about to strike.
Following this, Park Bucheng's hand coiled around Cheng Junhan like a snake. With a gentle push, Cheng Junhan lost his balance and fell heavily to the ground.
"What... what kind of move is this?" Cheng Junhan lay on the floor, staring incredulously at Park Bucheng.
Park Bucheng smiled slightly. "This is called 'Tai Chi,' something I just comprehended. Not bad, right?"
Just then, the office door swung open again. Jin Taishan rushed in, panting heavily. "Park Bucheng, it's bad! Li Zhenghao over there..."
Before he could finish his sentence, he spotted Cheng Junhan lying on the floor and froze in shock.
Park Bucheng turned his head, a sharp glint in his eyes. "What happened? Did something go wrong with Li Zhenghao?"
Jin Taishan swallowed hard. "Li Zhenghao... Li Zhenghao has been assassinated!"
