Yun Li changed into a dark red velvet qipao, her long neck exposed a delicate portion of her fair skin despite the high collar. The sea breeze tousled her hair as she chatted with Shu Ran, both sipping on low-alcohol Special Cocktails. When someone approached, they engaged in conversation, exchanging contact information with ease. 0

Shu Ran was called away by Cheng Zhou, leaving Yun Li alone at the table, resting her elbow on it while gazing at the night scenery outside. A gentleman approached to strike up a conversation, but Yun Li was no longer the same girl she had been at ten years old. Back then, she would shy away from any boy wanting to add her on WeChat, finding ways to refuse them. Even if she reluctantly accepted, there would be no follow-up. 0

Now, however, she navigated conversations effortlessly and was quick to exchange contact details without hesitation. Her beautiful features stirred something in the man’s heart, but suddenly the table was jolted by a kick. The man turned to see Jiang Shiyu standing there with one hand in his pocket, casting a cold glance at him. 0

“That’s my spot,” Jiang Shiyu said. The man had seen him sitting with Yun Li earlier but chose not to confront Jiang Shiyu's rudeness as he stood up. “Hello, are you Yun Li’s brother? Nice to meet you, I’m Li.” 0

“Which blind eye told you we’re siblings?” Jiang Shiyu interrupted coldly before the man could finish his sentence. 0

The man’s face turned awkward and slightly angry. Yun Li stood up and apologized to him. “I’m sorry about that, he’s had too much to drink.” 0

The man nodded and left without further argument; he didn’t want to bring any bad luck during the festive season. 0

After he left, Yun Li decided it was time for her to go as well. As she passed by Jiang Shiyu, something caught her skirt. She turned to find the hem of her dress snagged on a chair leg. Jiang Shiyu crouched down and helped her free it. 0

“Thank you,” she said quickly before moving on. 0

She looked for Shu Ran but couldn’t find her after searching around. A casual glance at the new terrace revealed Jiang Shiyu lounging on a high stool, his long legs dangling down. The button at his collar was undone; it was still a bit chilly in the evening, yet he wore only a light layer. With his sleeves rolled up and long fingers wrapped around a glass, he stared blankly at the liquid inside. 0

When women approached him to chat, he rudely ignored them completely. 0

The woman tossed her long hair and walked away, maintaining her dignity. Jiang Shiyu caught sight of Yun Li, and as their eyes met, something electric seemed to spark between them. 0

Jiang Shiyu stood up and walked towards her. Flustered, Yun Li quickly lowered her gaze and hurried in a random direction, not noticing the waiter approaching with a tray of drinks. 0

Suddenly, she found herself facing a pair of shiny leather shoes, their reflection blinding. She collided with a solid wall of flesh, and the next moment, there was a loud crash as the waiter was jostled aside by Jiang Shiyu's forceful approach, causing the drinks to spill. 0

Wine splashed onto Jiang Shiyu's back, soaking a large area of her shirt. The waiter turned pale with fright and quickly apologized. 0

The manager noticed the commotion and rushed over. "What happened?" 0

The young waiter, who looked like a student working part-time, stammered, "Manager, I accidentally—" 0

Before she could finish, Jiang Shiyu interjected, "I bumped into her; the spilled wine is my fault." 0

The waiter's fear eased a bit at her words. The manager, upholding high professional standards, replied respectfully, "It's just a few glasses of wine. It's New Year's; perhaps it's a good omen for peace and prosperity." 0

He instructed the waiter, "Get her a change of clothes." 0

Relieved to be excused from the situation, the waiter stole a glance at Jiang Shiyu before leaving. 0

"Your clothes are wet; let us help you change," the manager offered. 0

"No need," she replied curtly. 0

Seeing that the issue had been resolved, Yun Li turned to leave but felt Jiang Shiyu grip the back of her neck as if he had caught her by a braid. 0

"Are you just going to walk away after I took the hit for you?" he asked. 0

Yun Li shrugged off his hand and turned to look at him from behind. The lower part of his back was completely soaked, his shirt clinging tightly to his toned physique. 0

"That's quite a large wet patch," she remarked. "What's your account number? I'll compensate you for a new shirt." 0

Jiang Shiyu placed his hand over her phone screen. "No need for compensation; just come with me to change." 0
