However, how did he know who Bai Zhousheng was?
Yun Li held her phone with both hands and thought carefully after hearing this. She said, "He is more scheming than most people. Perhaps Bai Zhousheng had flaws from the beginning, but we just didn’t notice them."
"Fortunately, you’re fine. I’ll introduce you to some friends I know! After all, it’s good to have connections."
"I think we need to take another look at Fu Jing."
Yun Li shot her a glance. "Weren't you just talking about him?"
Shu Ran smiled. "I meant in that regard."
"Stop messing around; just go with the flow!" Yun Li explained to Shu Ran.
Recently, Yun Li had been quite enthusiastic about gaming and was lounging on the sofa playing games with Shu Ran. After two rounds with unsatisfactory results, she thought of Qin Nianzhe.
"I'll ask Qin Nianzhe to join us."
Yun Li sent a message to Qin Nianzhe. After finally getting a breather and resting at home for two days, he received Yun Li's message and forwarded it to Jiang Shiyu.
"Yun Li wants to play games with you."
When Jiang Shiyu saw the message, he was sitting in a café with Cheng Zhou, looking at recent stock trends. He opened the game and said to Cheng Zhou, "Are you busy?"
Hearing the game sounds, Cheng Zhou tapped his fingers on the table. "Your ambition seems to be dwindling lately."
Jiang Shiyu didn’t give him a glance and clicked into Yun Li's room, noticing her avatar—a cartoon character.
"I think I’m quite ambitious."
"Ambitious about pursuing someone."
Shu Ran turned on her microphone. "Qin Nianzhe, turn on your mic."
Cheng Zhou looked up at him with a questioning expression upon hearing this.
Jiang Shiyu typed without turning on his mic. "I don’t like using the mic."
Shu Ran found him strange; playing games without a mic took away some of the atmosphere.
"Come on, put your ambition right here."
Cheng Zhou understood and let out a light laugh.
Yun Li chose Yao, while Jiang Shiyu played as the jungler and Shu Ran took on the role of marksman. Cheng Zhou closed the computer and left; with Jiang Shiyu joining, winning this match felt particularly easy.
In the next game, Jiang Shiyu played as the jungler again, Yun Li remained as support, and this time Shu Ran took on the marksman role. The opposing marksman was quite strong, putting pressure on both of them. Shu Ran, frustrated, called out to Qin Nianzhe through the microphone, "Can you stop focusing on the jungle and come help us?"
After finishing his red buff, Jiang Shiyu quietly made his way to the development lane, hiding in the bushes by the river. Shu Ran led Yun Li over to lure the opposing Hou Yi. As Hou Yi slowly moved out, Shu Ran and Yun Li were forced to retreat under his attacks. Sensing an advantage, Hou Yi pressed forward.
Lan was already poised to strike. With low health, Shu Ran retreated while Hou Yi advanced with Sun Bin. Lan unleashed his skills, swiftly taking down Hou Yi in just a few hits. The opposing team barely had time to react; Sun Bin attempted to escape, but Yun Li rushed over to disrupt him at Lan's side, leaving Sun Bin with no chance of escape.
Shu Ran was thrilled. "Qin Nianzhe, your skills are impressive! I should practice Lan too; he's so cool and perfect for showing off."
After playing games for a long time, Cheng Zhou invited the two to dinner. They finished their meal at the hotel and started gaming again. The afternoon passed quickly with their gaming session.
That evening, Yun Li and Shu Ran were at a bar having fun. After drinking a bit, Yun Li watched couples embracing in the bar and suddenly felt a void in her heart. She sighed, prompting Shu Ran to wrap her arms around her shoulders and ask, "What's wrong? Not having fun?"
Yun Li shook her head. "I think I'm more suited for work."
As they relaxed, a jumble of thoughts flooded her mind. Shu Ran understood her feelings and encouraged her, "Just go back and sleep with Fu Jing; how about that?"
Yun Li snapped back to reality, "It's easier said than done! He's too serious; I don't know how to approach him."
"Men can be shy too," Hao Hao chimed in. "When you meet him again, try to create more physical contact."
The two were in a quiet bar where their voices were low enough that Jiang Shiyu, who had just entered and was making his way over, could hear them clearly. He wore glasses that accentuated his deep-set eyes and slightly furrowed his brow upon hearing their conversation.
Yun Li had no other choice. She took a sip of her drink and stood up with a serious expression. "I want to sleep with him before I turn thirty," she said, but her words were abruptly cut off as someone pinched her lips shut.
Her soft pink lips were held tightly, slightly pouting as she frowned and swatted away the fingers on her mouth. She turned to the culprit. "What are you doing?"
Jiang Shiyu remained in his outfit from earlier that day, silent as he gazed at her, the glass lenses of his glasses adding an air of mystery to his demeanor.
Yun Li's anger dissipated in an instant; she found herself drawn in again.
Shu Ran glanced at Yun Li's expression and immediately covered her eyes. "Jiang Shiyu, can you not dress so provocatively after work?"
Jiang Shiyu raised an eyebrow lightly, a hint of amusement in his dark eyes, but his words dripped with sarcasm. "Have you been salted by the sea these past few days?"
Shu Ran turned Yun Li around. "Hao Hao, let's go somewhere else."
