If it were the old Yun Li, she would have been too concerned about her appearance to show her scars, but now she felt indifferent. Who would care about the injury on her leg anyway?
Her skin was fair, and she wore a clean blue floral dress that reminded one of the clear blue sky, instantly lifting anyone's spirits. With a low ponytail and a touch of light makeup, she didn’t look like a delicate flower; instead, her outfit added a fresh charm, and her smile conveyed both innocence and allure.
He Lin Cheng's lips curled into a smile as he spoke in a clear voice, "It's too stuffy in the car. Let's take a walk; I just happened to come to pick you up, so it works out perfectly."
"Then let's go!" Yun Li replied, and the two walked side by side. Suddenly, a sharp bark echoed behind them.
Yun Li instinctively tensed and turned around to see the director baring his teeth and barking fiercely at senior He.
In the next moment, the director charged forward. He Lin Cheng reacted swiftly, sidestepping just in time, but the hem of his white shirt was bitten through with a loud rip.
Yun Li gasped in shock and shouted, "Director, stop!"
The director looked at Yun Li and instantly became obedient, whimpering as he turned in circles before sitting down in front of them, clearly trying to block their way.
Only then did Yun Li turn to He Lin Cheng with concern. "Are you okay, Senior?"
He Lin Cheng was startled as well; shaking his head while looking at the torn hem, he replied, "I'm fine. Why does it have such hostility towards me?"
Yun Li felt a pang of guilt; she hadn’t expected the director to notice that. The director barked twice at He Lin Cheng, prompting Yun Li to glare at him. Instantly, he became docile and lay down with a pitiful whine, looking utterly dejected.
"Don't be fierce with me; Mommy is being fierce with me," he seemed to say.
This little comedy act was becoming unbearable. The director stubbornly blocked their path, and fearing he might bite someone, Yun Li urged He Lin Cheng to leave.
After He Lin Cheng walked away, Yun Li turned angrily and headed inside, with the director quickly following her.
He wagged his tail eagerly and pranced along as if he were hopping.
Yun Li felt utterly helpless. Once they reached the elevator, she began to educate him.
"Sit properly."
The director obediently sat down, smiling as he waited for Yun Li to lecture him.
" senior He is a good person; can you please not try to bite him every time you see him?"
The director responded with a resolute bark: "Wang Wang," meaning no.
He is my friend and my partner in the theater. We have a great relationship, so you can't bully him.
The Director: "Wang Wang, no."
Yun Li couldn't understand either; she was trying to educate him, but the Director wasn't listening anyway.
It wasn't until the elevator opened and they entered the room that Yun Li set her bag down and sat on the sofa. The Director wanted to join her, but as soon as his front paws touched the sofa, Yun Li shooed him away.
"Get down."
The Director obediently hopped down and sat in front of her.
"Be good, and I'll buy you some meat, okay?"
The Director: "Woof."
That should mean yes.
He Lin Cheng called, and Yun Li glanced at the Director with concern before getting up to answer in the bedroom. As soon as He Lin Cheng's voice came through, the Director started barking outside.
He Lin Cheng sighed, "Let's just text on WeChat!"
Yun Li felt a headache coming on.
As soon as she hung up, the Director quieted down outside. Yun Li stepped out with a displeased expression. "Didn't you just promise me?"
The Director tilted his head, "I didn't!"
Yun Li sighed; what was there to say to a dog? It was clearly its owner's influence.
Yun Li sent a message to Jiang Shiyu: "Can you please educate Hao Hao? Tell him not to bully people."
The next moment, Jiang Shiyu called her on video.
Yun Li answered angrily, "That dog almost bit someone! If I hadn't shouted in time, Senior He would probably be in the hospital by now."
Jiang Shiyu raised his thick eyebrows slightly, "But it didn't bite anyone, did it?"
His deep gaze fell on Yun Li's neck and collarbone, where her fair skin was exposed. "Dressed so nicely to go on a date? No wonder the Director wanted to bite him."
Yun Li was so exasperated that she almost laughed. Her voice turned colder: "What does my dating have to do with you? If you don't educate the Director soon, I might say something without thinking."
Yun Li was at a loss for how to punish the director. She couldn't just throw him out, could she?
Jiang Shiyu smirked, raising an eyebrow playfully. "What will you do?"
Yun Li glanced at the director's dog bowl and said, "I'll let your dog skip a meal."
The director, sitting nearby, immediately protested with a whine.
Jiang Shiyu chuckled lightly, clearly amused. What fault did the director have? He just didn't want his home to be disrupted.
Pointing the camera at the director, Yun Li turned her phone around. The director saw Jiang Shiyu and immediately wagged his tail in excitement.
"Good job, keep it up," he said.
Yun Li frowned, but the director seemed even happier.
Sensing that his mother might be upset, the director stopped his antics.
He was quite perceptive about people's moods.
In front of Jiang Shiyu, Yun Li gave the director a light tap on the head. "If you keep misbehaving, I'll have to discipline you."
However, Jiang Shiyu remained calm and unbothered, exuding an air of leisure. With his silver-rimmed glasses enhancing his depth, he remarked, "Is that a tickle?"
The director squinted his eyes in pleasure.
Yun Li couldn't bring herself to be harsh; it was merely a show of force.
"Enough chatter. When are you coming back? Two months have already passed."
"What's the rush? Don't we need to wrap things up? A few more days of fun?" His tone was relaxed and unhurried.
Yun Li replied directly, "Tomorrow I'll take the director to your building. You can come back and find him yourself!"
With that, she hung up the phone.
