Yun Li smiled gently and said, "Ran Ran, I won't blame you for being disloyal."
Shu Ran pouted, looking like a abandoned puppy. "You must be mad at me."
"No, I'm not angry at all!"
Her soft tone only confirmed Shu Ran's suspicion.
Eventually, Zhou and Shu Ran sat together while Yun Li faced them across the table.
Yun Li observed Shu Ran, who appeared tense, as if she were being scrutinized by a strict teacher. Zhou, on the other hand, seemed completely at ease. He took a sip of soda and held it up to Shu Ran's lips, asking, "Are you thirsty?"
Shu Ran pushed him away. "Stop messing around."
"Come on! When did you two get together?" Yun Li asked.
Shu Ran hesitated before answering, "It's been about two months now!"
Zhou chimed in, "Yeah."
Yun Li's eyes widened in surprise. "That long? Weren't you just talking bad about him last week?"
Shu Ran laughed awkwardly. "We had a fight, and I couldn't help but vent a little."
Zhou pinched Shu Ran's earlobe playfully. "Why do you spill everything?"
Shu Ran swatted his hand away. "Well, you made me angry!"
Yun Li felt as if she had been fed a mouthful of dog food.
"Why are you hiding it if you're together?" she asked, confused.
"We agreed that we are each other's only one," Shu Ran explained. "I suddenly got together with him, and I was afraid you'd be upset!"
Yun Li chuckled. They talked freely when they were together; she hadn't expected Shu Ran to take it seriously.
"Alright then, I'm leaving. You two take care of yourselves," Yun Li said with a hint of suggestion.
Shu Ran shyly clung to her arm and pouted, "Aww! We bought so much food to share!"
The three of them sat together enjoying their late-night snacks and chatting.
"Why do you seem so happy? Did you win the lottery?"
Yun Li spoke without any pretense, "I've let go." She felt as if she had been reborn.
Shu Ran exchanged a cautious glance with Zhou, uncertainly asking, "You mean you've let him go?"
Yun Li nodded confidently. Seeing Shu Ran's wary expression, she reassured her, "Don't worry! I won't be sad because of him anymore."
Shu Ran looked at her carefully and gradually felt relieved. It was about time to move on. "Let's go to Yuan Ye one of these days, relax and have some fun," she suggested, excitement bubbling up as she completely forgot that Zhou was still there.
Zhou set down his drink with a bit too much force, causing a sharp clink. Shu Ran quickly turned to him, "I'll arrange for you to meet an amazing male model; I just need a little drink."
Yun Li couldn't help but laugh.
She loved barbecue but didn't dare to indulge too much. After finishing her drink, she started to clean up, but Shu Ran stopped her.
"Zhou will take care of it. Let's go to bed! You have work tomorrow, and I'll drive you."
"I'll take a sports car and give you a little spin," she added.
Yun Li noticed Zhou's displeased gaze from the side and declined, "I'll sleep in the next room."
She woke up at seven in the morning. Since she had left some clothes and makeup at Shu Ran's place, she quickly got ready and went downstairs to find Zhou had made breakfast.
There was fresh hot milk and San Zhi. Yun Li usually either ate in the cafeteria or skipped breakfast altogether, but today she was lucky enough to enjoy Zhou's cooking.
Shu Ran was already accustomed to this; she lazily ate her San Zhi with milk while yawning. When she came down, she had used concealer to cover up some blemishes, but there was still a hint of a love bite that hadn’t been concealed.
Shu Ran drove her to the theater. Yun Li had a flexible work schedule; after graduating, she opened her own Wedding Dress Studio that only took custom orders.
But Shu Ran was lazy and only accepted ten orders at a time. She claimed that inspiration could run dry, and if she took on more than ten, her brain would rust.
Even so, many people still sought her out for custom designs, and her schedule was always packed.
