Jiang Shiyu had been imprisoned for two days. He found himself in a secluded estate, monitored both inside and out, with his phone confiscated. Despite the situation, he wore a lazy, carefree smile, his tone casual and irreverent.
"Are you planning to keep me locked up for a lifetime?" he quipped.
Shi Yi calmly enjoyed her dinner, three servants standing by with their heads bowed, too afraid to speak. She didn’t spare them a glance, maintaining an air of tranquility and elegance as she savored each bite at a leisurely pace.
Unexpectedly, Jiang Shiyu stood up to leave. A bodyguard stationed at the door reached out to stop him.
Without hesitation, he turned and casually perched himself on the long European-style onyx table, sprawling out as if it were his personal lounge. Propping his head up with one hand while resting his elbow on the table, he faced Shi Yi directly. He tapped the surface of the table playfully, "Hey! This isn’t half bad."
Seeing him reclined in such an undignified manner, Shi Yi's expression shifted slightly.
"England," she said succinctly. "I’m giving you three days to think it over. Tomorrow is the deadline; after that, I will take you directly."
Jiang Shiyu smirked at her finally speaking up. He jumped down from the table and retorted, "You think I don’t have a backup plan?" Counting the days, he knew his grandfather’s people would be looking for him soon.
Shi Yi remained utterly confident that Old Jiang's people wouldn’t come searching here. She had prepared for this ever since Jiang Shiyu had left Jiang Hao’s side. The next day, she had him captured without hesitation.
When Jiang Shiyu awoke, he found himself back in the estate.
Shi Yi gave him three days to think it over. He even introduced him to someone—a girl who was the daughter of a real estate tycoon from Jing City. This girl would be going to England with him. Shi Yi's intentions were clear; he hoped that he and the girl would become a couple, leading to an arranged marriage.
Suddenly, sounds erupted from outside. Jiang Shiyu's lips curled into a slight smile, his brows relaxing with a hint of disdain. He turned around and swiftly took down the bodyguards at the door before opening it wide.
A fight had already broken out outside.
Shi Yi's expression tightened as he followed him out. Jiang Shiyu moved leisurely, taking slow steps into the fray. Ahead of him lay an expansive dark sky and an endless forest, while the chaos around seemed to have nothing to do with him. With his hands in his pockets, a team of people formed behind him to protect his exit.
A gray sports car roared into the estate, and its occupants quickly jumped out. Jiang Shiyu got in smoothly, turning his head to glance at Shi Yi in the distance with his playful Peach Blossom Eyes before starting the engine and driving away.
Shi Yi, as the head of the Shi Family Group, remained unflappable even in this situation. He stood tall with his arms crossed over his abdomen, watching Jiang Shiyu leave with an air of pride.
As the car drove off, the group followed closely behind.
"Manager Shi, should we pursue them?" one of his subordinates asked.
Shi Yi raised a hand to signal that it wasn't necessary. There was a hint of satisfaction in his overly beautiful Peach Blossom Eyes. The kid was becoming more capable by the day.
These past few days, he had been well-fed and entertained, acting nonchalantly in front of her like a carefree playboy. He must have known that Old Jiang's people would come looking for him, which is why he wasn't anxious. The more anxious he became, the more it played into my hands.
In the evening, Old Master Shi arrived. He sat on the rosewood chair in the study, his sharp eyes, like those of an eagle, fixed on Shi Yi.
He ran away?
Shi Yi lowered his gaze, his hands crossed in a submissive posture. Yes.
"Come here."
Without hesitation, Shi Yi stepped forward two paces. A loud slap echoed through the room, just as he had anticipated. Shi Yi turned his face to the side but remained steady on his feet.
