Jiang Shiyu waved at Zhang Mingyu, who came over with a camera. Jiang Shiyu stood beside Yun, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
"Make sure to get a good shot," he said.
Zhang Mingyu gave a thumbs up and reassured them, "Don't worry! With you two, one being devastatingly handsome and the other breathtakingly beautiful, any shot will look great."
Jiang Shiyu smiled, his lips curving as his brows relaxed. "What do you mean? Just make sure you don’t mess it up."
After the photo was taken, Jiang Shiyu lowered his arm and said to her, "It’s my first time watching you compete; of course, I want a picture to remember it."
Yun had removed her makeup and changed out of her costume, placing it into a large black bag. As she stepped out, Jiang Shiyu took the bag from her, and the group headed to the cafeteria for a meal.
On the way, Yu Meng teased, "Jiang Shiyu, why didn’t you prepare any flowers for Yun today?"
"Flowers?" Jiang Shiyu paused, realizing he had forgotten.
"It’s fine; it doesn’t matter if there are flowers or not," Yun Qian laughed.
Yu Meng chimed in, "Who said it doesn’t matter? Aren't you the one who loves flowers the most? Jiang Shiyu, you haven’t given Yun any flowers yet? Tsk tsk, how careless."
As a good friend of Yun's, Yu Meng couldn't help but criticize her boyfriend, finding fault with him at every turn.
After finishing their meal, Yu Meng and Peng Qingyu left. At the door, they saw them off; it was the weekend and Qin Nianchu and Qin Nianzhe were heading to their maternal grandparents' house.
Xu Jiaxing and Zhang Mingyu were planning to go out for some fun.
Jiang Shiyu drove Yun back to their residence. Once home, Yun took a shower. Afterward, she emerged from the bathroom to find a bouquet of flowers in the living room.
The pink roses were beautifully wrapped with flesh-colored ribbons. Yun's eyes widened in surprise as she picked up the delicate petals; they were vibrant and captivating. She inhaled deeply and found them quite fragrant—the unique scent of roses.
Jiang Shiyu's voice came from behind her. "Do you like them?"
Yun turned around with a bright smile, looking at Jiang Shiyu casually leaning against the wall.
"I love them! Where did you buy them? They’re so beautiful."
"I ordered them online on my way back."
Yun was overjoyed to receive a special gift from the boy she liked. She found a delicate vase and trimmed the flowers, placing them inside the porcelain white container. After arranging them, she set it on the bar counter, filling the space with a touch of artistic flair.
That evening, the two of them sat on the sofa watching television. Before eleven o'clock, Yun felt sleepy and lazily leaned against Jiang Shiyu's chest, yawning.
Jiang Shiyu gently stroked her palm with his fingertips and lowered his head, his voice lazy, "Feeling sleepy?"
Yun nodded. Jiang Shiyu turned off the television and lightly picked her up.
The sudden movement startled her awake; instinctively, she wrapped her arms around Jiang Shiyu's neck, her eyes wide with surprise. "What are you doing?"
"Going to sleep," he replied succinctly.
He carried Yun to the bedroom.
"I can manage on my own; you don't have to carry me," Yun protested, swinging her legs as if to get down.
Jiang Shiyu held her securely, knowing that if she moved too much, she might fall. With a teasing smile, Yun shot him a glare.
Once in the bedroom, he knelt on one knee beside the bed and gently placed Yun down. She yawned again and pulled back the covers, shooing him away. "Alright, you should get some rest too. Goodnight."
As soon as she lay down, the covers beside her were pulled back, and the bed sank as Jiang Shiyu joined her, enveloping her in his unique scent and holding her close.
His voice was low and relaxed as he said, "Okay, goodnight."
Yun pushed against his chest in protest, struggling slightly. "Wait, why are you lying down?"
Jiang Shiyu casually rested his chin on top of her head. "Would you really let me stay awake while you sleep?"
"Your room is next door," Yun mumbled, her voice muffled against him.
"From now on, my room is here," Jiang Shiyu stated matter-of-factly.
He leaned down and kissed her forehead softly. "Goodnight, baby."
The term "baby" felt more comforting than any sweet words could convey; it was like a decree that made Yun stop moving altogether. Her face flushed as she buried herself deeper into Jiang Shiyu's embrace, inhaling his scent completely.
She fell into a deep sleep that night.
