The two of them chose a barbecue restaurant, and by the time Jiang Shiyu arrived, the dishes had already been ordered.
Yun Li noticed him coming in and stood up, waving. Jiang Shiyu glanced over, saw him, and sauntered over to sit beside Yun Li. Yun Li handed him the menu, asking if he wanted to order anything else.
Seeing that quite a few dishes had already been ordered, Jiang Shiyu remarked, "You two eat so little; what's left is enough." He glanced at the empty seats beside them and added, "Have you two moved the whole restaurant here?"
Yun Li smirked slightly, "Not at all! We just ended up buying more than we intended while browsing from one place to another."
Jiang Shiyu took her hand to look at it, frowning slightly as he noticed the marks left on her skin. "It’s not that bad! Just a little."
Qin Nianchu watched the two of them being affectionate in front of her and couldn't take it anymore. She slammed her hand on the table and said, "Hey! Can you two stop showing off in front of me? I won’t be able to eat later!"
Jiang Shiyu raised an eyebrow playfully and replied, "Don't you think you're shining yourself?"
Qin Nianchu laughed in frustration, crossing her arms with a sarcastic smile. "Fine, I’ll just leave you two alone then. Is that okay?"
Yun Li stood up and pulled her back down with a smile. "Nianchu, he’s just joking; don’t take it to heart. Besides, you’re all so familiar with each other—are you really going to leave just because of one comment?"
Qin Nianchu hugged Yun Li back, saying, "You’re the best, Li Li." She then sat down next to Yun Li while Jiang Shiyu leaned back with his arms crossed, looking displeased.
The meat on the grill sizzled as Jiang Shiyu used tongs to flip it over and brushed some oil on top. When the pork belly was ready, he served it first to Yun Li.
Qin Nianchu helped herself, dipping some into chili powder before wrapping it in lettuce to eat.
"Li Li," she said, "there's a top dance competition coming to campus this year. I’m participating; are you thinking about it too?"
Yun Li nodded. "Yes, our teacher mentioned it. I've been preparing lately."
"I wonder which school will host the Dolphin Show," she continued. "I hope I can go to a big one."
Yun Li replied, "No school has hosted the Dolphin Show for years; I think the chances are pretty slim."
Qin Nianchu felt a bit discouraged. Sighing, she thought that even seeing him once required exhausting her brain.
"Did you two make any progress yesterday?"
Before Qin Nianchu could respond, Jiang Shiyu's teasing voice chimed in, "Of course not. Being rejected is the norm."
Qin Nianchu shot him a glare; he always spoke the truth just to provoke her.
The two quickly finished their meal, and Jiang Shiyu took it upon herself to clean up the leftovers.
After sending them to the school gate, Yun Li picked up a few pieces of clothing she had bought that day while Jiang Shiyu carried the rest.
Qin Nianchu got out of the car first, and Yun Li said to her, "I've been a bit busy lately, so I won't be coming over this weekend."
Jiang Shiyu nodded, "Alright, go ahead!"
Yun Li waved goodbye with a small hand before getting out of the car and walking away.
After enjoying two weeks of relaxation, they were back to intense training and rehearsals.
Not only did they have to cover class content, but they also needed to meticulously rehearse for their competition pieces. Every day was filled with sweat; they could practically wring water out of their clothes.
Jiang Shiyu was also busy with competitions and various research projects in the lab. The two managed to find time to meet for a meal before going their separate ways again.
As nearly half a month passed, Yun Li was set to attend a training camp at Jingwu Affiliated School for the top hundred dancers. Participants included elite dancers from universities across the country, along with many prominent figures from the dance community providing guidance.
Peng Qingyu and Yu Meng were also participating, bringing the three friends back together again.
One morning, they hurried to Affiliated High School while having breakfast together. The streets were filled with dancers heading to the training camp, all wearing excited expressions and laughing joyfully when they met friends along the way.
Originally, Jiang Shiyu planned to accompany Yun Li for lunch at Jing Wu on Monday, but since Yun Li went to Affiliated High School and had both lunch and dinner there, he decided not to go to Jing Wu after all.
Instead, he invited a few friends from the dormitory to eat at the school cafeteria.
Zhang Mingyu smirked and teased, "Well well, Brother Yu finally decided to treat us!"
Jiang Shiyu wore a black lightweight hoodie, his tall and slender figure accentuated by a long neck and prominent Adam's apple. He tilted his chin slightly, casting a glance at him, as if to say that only eating something disgusting would silence him.
He strolled lazily to a nearby window to grab some food. Zhang Mingyu let out a groan, feeling nauseated. "Dude, just hearing you say that has killed my appetite."
