Yun Li took half an hour to finally come out, moving slowly. She furrowed her brows and wiped her hair; the hairdryer was probably in the master bedroom.
She quietly opened the door, and the person on the bed was still asleep. Yun Li tiptoed over and crouched down, preparing to pull open the drawer when Jiang Shiyu's face suddenly turned toward her.
Yun Li bit her lip and gently pulled open the drawer, but her arm was suddenly grabbed and pulled onto the bed.
"Ah!"
After being flipped around, she finally came to a stop. Yun Li blinked her slightly dizzy eyes, looking dazedly at the person in front of her.
Jiang Shiyu's eyes were still a bit hazy with sleep as he raised an eyebrow, looking at her with a playful expression. "Where did you run off to?"
"I was taking a shower."
Jiang Shiyu leaned down to sniff her damp hair. "You smell nice."
Yun Li pushed him away with some force. "Why didn't you say anything when you woke up? You scared me."
She shot him a reproachful glance before getting off the bed to grab the hairdryer.
Jiang Shiyu, bare-chested, playfully took the hairdryer from her hands, plugged it in, and began to tousle her hair with his fingers.
Once her hair was dry, Yun Li touched it and found it quite dry. The person behind her slowly moved closer, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her ear. Yun Li shrank her neck slightly; it tickled.
"Why were you in my bed last night?"
With long fingers playing with her smooth hair, his voice still hoarse from sleep replied, "You held onto me tightly and wouldn’t let go."
"I had no choice but to stay and keep you company."
Yun Li turned her head in shock, lightly furrowing her brows. "You're talking nonsense. I remember clearly..." Her voice trailed off.
Last night, there was a moment when it felt like she was the one holding onto him tightly before everything escalated from there.
Jiang Shiyu lazily propped himself up on one arm, tilting his head with an arched brow. "Why did you stop talking?"
Yun Li didn't want to bring up what had happened last night and decided to let it go.
"Are you not getting up?" Jiang Shiyu asked, his tone casual.
"Get up now!"
He didn't continue to tease her, his dark eyes quietly fixed on her as he spoke. He lifted the blanket and placed his feet on the floor. Yun Li was startled and immediately covered her eyes.
"Wait, why are you lifting the blanket in front of me?"
Jiang Shiyu turned back, puzzled, still wearing his pajama pants. "What else should I do? Should I stay wrapped in the blanket while getting out of bed?"
Yun Li's ears turned bright red, her voice anxious and flustered. "At least you should put on some clothes first!"
Jiang Shiyu spread his hands. "I am wearing something!"
Yun Li peeked through her fingers and caught sight of his black pants, feeling a bit embarrassed as she bit her lip.
She lowered her hands to her knees, her gaze wandering. "I thought you weren't wearing anything."
"I'll head out first; you can get ready."
After saying that, she hurried out without daring to look at him again.
Jiang Shiyu chuckled softly and picked up the pajama top from the floor, putting it on.
At the dining table, they were having breakfast when Yun Li said to him, "Nianchu asked me to go shopping at the mall today. We just finished buying things and are heading back to school together."
"I'll take you there."
"No need; it's nearby. I'll take the subway."
"Are you having dinner outside then?"
Yun Li nodded as she sipped her soup.
"Send me the address when you're having dinner; I'll join you."
