On Saturday night, the two arrived punctually at a villa on the outskirts of Jing City. The villa was brightly lit, with a well-manicured lawn and neatly trimmed trees, while the streetlights exuded a warm glow. The Western-style architecture was filled with music and laughter, exuding an air of elegance and extravagance.
Yun Li was visiting such a place for the first time and felt a bit out of place as she entered. Inside, people were drinking and dancing. As they noticed the newcomers, a slightly chubby boy approached with a glass of champagne, grinning widely. "Brother Yu, we've been waiting for you! What took you so long?"
His gaze then shifted to Yun Li. "So, this is your new girlfriend? She looks pretty good." Having heard about Jiang Shiyu's new girlfriend, he assumed she would be like the others and spoke without restraint.
Yun Li immediately felt no attraction to the chubby boy's goofy grin. As soon as he finished speaking, she shot back, "I think you look quite awkward yourself."
The boy's smile froze instantly, his brows furrowing in surprise, while Jiang Shiyu let out a chuckle at his friend's expense. With a slight bow of his head, he smirked, his thin lips curling up in amusement, his eyes filled with affection.
"Wait, I was just complimenting you! Why do you have to say it like that?"
"Huang Pang, this is my girlfriend Yun Li. Mind your words; if you get scolded, don't blame anyone but yourself," Jiang Shiyu said lightly, casting a sidelong glance at him.
It was the first time everyone had seen Jiang Shiyu protect a girl like this. He held her hand as they sat on the sofa together and found an opened bottle of fruit wine among the drinks to open for her.
Huang Pang approached sheepishly. "Ah, I misspoke; please don’t hold it against me, sister-in-law."
"I'm fine with it," Yun Li replied. Seeing his sincere attitude, she decided not to take it to heart.
A girl wearing a colorful bodycon dress with big waves in her hair approached them gracefully, holding a glass of red wine in her delicate hand. She swayed her alluring figure as she sat on the armrest next to Jiang Shiyu.
With enticing red lips curving into a seductive smile, she leaned in and cooed, "So Jiang Shao has a new girlfriend now?"
Her gaze slid from Jiang Shiyu to Yun Li; while Yun Li was striking at first glance, her simple outfit—a blue sweatshirt paired with slightly flared jeans—seemed plain and unremarkable.
Jiang Shiyu took a sip of his drink without acknowledging her. "We've been dating for over two months; I haven't changed."
The girl seemed surprised by his protective tone. "You’re really serious about this?"
"You’re crowding us," Jiang Shiyu finally turned his attention to her for just a moment before wrapping an arm around Yun Li's shoulders and leaning closer to her.
His tone and expression were filled with unmistakable disdain.
The girl paused for a moment, glancing at where she was seated. Since she was on the armrest, as soon as she approached, Jiang Shiyu instinctively leaned toward Yun Li, leaving a large gap between them that could easily accommodate another person.
Jiang Shiyu gently touched Yun Li's cheek, his tone filled with concern, as if he truly felt her pain.
The girl sensed she was being urged to leave and her expression changed slightly as she tightened her grip on her wine glass and stood up to depart. Laughter erupted among the others at the table.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, she set down her glass and headed for the second floor.
Yun Li pushed away his hand that was still playfully messing with her face. "What are you doing?" she asked, bewildered. "She's already gone, and you’re still pinching."
Jiang Shiyu looked at her seriously, scrutinizing her features. "After taking care of you for so many days, it still feels like you haven't gained any weight," he remarked, lightly pinching her cheek again, making it appear even smaller.
Surrounded by intense gazes, Yun Li's face flushed. She pouted, "Do you think I'm made of clay? Just a little pinch and I shrink."
Pushing him away, Yun Li took a sip of her fruit wine to cool down, only to find that her face felt even warmer.
Jiang Shiyu laughed, leaning back casually against the sofa, exuding an air of relaxed dominance as if claiming the space as his own. The large sofa accommodated only the two of them while everyone else either sat at the bar or danced in the club, drinking and enjoying themselves.
Meanwhile, Qin Nianchu and Qin Nianzhe were on the second floor when they heard that Jiang Shiyu and Yun Li had arrived. Nianchu quickly rushed downstairs.
