Her fingers were warm, and Yun Li nodded, feeling a bit drowsy.
"Let’s eat first and then sleep a little longer. Once we’re rested, we can go out," she suggested. After thinking for a moment, Yun Li nodded again.
Her obedient demeanor made Jiang Shiyu unable to resist gently pinching her cheek, almost teasingly.
After they finished washing up, they sat at the dining table for breakfast. The soy milk was sweetened, and Yun Li was delighted as she drank it; at school, she only had unsweetened soy milk. It was rare for her to have sweetened soy milk, and it tasted the best.
With each bite of her sandwich, Yun Li took a sip of soy milk, feeling utterly content. Seeing her satisfied expression while drinking the soy milk, Jiang Shiyu’s eyes softened with affection as she reminded her, "Eat slowly; don’t choke."
Yun Li shook her head, her eyes crescent-shaped with laughter. "I won’t choke; I just need to drink the soy milk." Saying this, she took another sip.
After finishing breakfast, Yun Li lay back down but found herself wide awake and unable to sleep anymore. She picked up her phone and saw a message from Shu.
“How was the experience, Baor?”
Yun Li replied, “What do you mean?”
Shu responded, “Feeling shy? Come on, who are we to each other? Tell me about it!”
Yun Li was even more confused: “What do you mean?”
A few seconds later, Shu sent two clapping emojis.
“Oh! That! Just do it! Don’t you have any?”
Yun Li’s eyes widened in shock, and her face flushed bright red as she sat up straight. She quickly typed back to clarify: “No, no, no! What are you thinking?”
The next moment, Shu initiated a video call. Startled, Yun Li answered it. On the other end, Shu was in her pajamas eating breakfast, her eyes wide as she scrutinized Yun Li to see if she was lying.
“Hao Hao! You didn’t seize such a great opportunity yesterday?”
Yun Li blushed and said angrily, "What happened to you? You’re thinking about that kind of stuff all day long."
Outside the door, Jiang Shiyu paused in his steps, still holding a glass of water.
Shu was tearing apart a piece of toast to eat. "Isn’t this normal? Hao Hao, you didn’t refuse him, did you?"
"Refuse? We were just sleeping together."
"Sleeping together?"
Yun Li nodded. "He said he would sleep outside and let me have the bed. We were both very proper about it; stop thinking about those things all the time."
Shu sighed in frustration, thinking about how she had prepared something special yesterday that ended up going to waste.
Yun Li had a bad feeling. "W-what did you prepare?"
Shu replied, "The descendant pouch! That’s what."
At that moment, Yun Li's face was no longer just red; it felt like it was steaming hot, her ears and neck flushed as well.
Yun Li shouted in embarrassment, "Shu! You—" She was at a loss for words.
Hearing everything from outside, Jiang Shiyu lowered his head and chuckled before walking away.
"Where did you put that thing?"
Shu had already hidden behind the screen and weakly replied, "In your coat pocket."
Yun Li remembered her coat was outside. If he found it, she couldn't even imagine how embarrassing that would be.
Blushing furiously, she dropped her phone and opened the door, peeking at Jiang Shiyu. He was sitting on the sofa, engrossed in a mobile game.
Yun Li glanced around; her clothes were hung up. She distinctly remembered not hanging them yesterday.
Suddenly, a loud alarm rang out. Nervously, Yun Li went to grab her coat and slipped back into her room, shutting the door behind her.
Jiang Shiyu sank deeper into the sofa, lazily lifting his eyelids with a casual smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
Yun Li touched her pocket; the item was still there. She let out a quiet sigh of relief.
Fortunately, he didn’t notice.
Yun Li warned herself once more; otherwise, she really would get angry.
Shu came over to apologize personally and then took the item away.
