The shops here are quite old, and the cobblestone road is uneven. Fortunately, it doesn't snow often in Jiangzhou, so the roads aren't slippery. I used to come here frequently, and many of these old shops have been around for over a decade, gathering a variety of local snacks from Jiangzhou.
Yun pulled her hand away from Jiang Shiyu and walked into a Xiao Long Bao shop. "One basket, please," she said to the owner. The owner was a middle-aged man, and steam billowed from the steamer, obscuring his features. All that could be heard was a simple, "Okay."
After receiving the Xiao Long Bao, the two continued toward the Wonton Shop. A line had already formed outside the Wonton Shop. Yun and Jiang Shiyu joined the queue, but Yun felt her feet growing stiff and cold despite wearing woolen socks.
She turned to look at Jiang Shiyu. His expression was indifferent, and his handsome face carried an air of sharpness. The person she had once hidden in her heart was now right in front of her; Yun had never imagined that one day they would be together.
They could hold hands like any ordinary couple and go shopping together. Noticing a gaze beside her, Jiang Shiyu turned his head with a lazy smile. "What are you looking at, Hao Hao?"
Caught off guard, Yun quickly turned her head away, a faint smile appearing on her lips as she replied, "I wasn't looking at anything."
Jiang Shiyu held her hand and asked, "Are you cold?"
Yun shook her head. "Not too cold. Once we eat the wontons, I'll warm up."
Mentioning the wontons made Yun's eyes light up. Just then, a female voice called out, "Jiang Shiyu?"
Both of them turned to look in the direction of the voice.
The tone became excited as the voice continued, "Is it really you?"
Jiang Shiyu looked at the girl across from him; she seemed somewhat familiar. The girl noticed Yun beside him and then shifted her gaze to their intertwined hands.
She raised an eyebrow, her tone shifting to something strange. "Got yourself a girlfriend again? Is this one for just a month too?"
A sense of pressure filled Jiang Shiyu's eyes as his demeanor turned sharp. His voice was low and devoid of warmth as he asked, "Who are you?"
The girl felt a pang of frustration at being unrecognized after having been together before. "You don't even remember me?" she huffed angrily.
With a scoff, she added, "Well, it makes sense; someone like you has no heart. How could you ever be sincere with anyone?"
Jiang Shiyu didn't care who she was. He tightened his grip on Yun's hand and replied coldly, "If we were together before, you should know my temperament."
Looking at the boy with a fierce expression, she felt her heart tighten and instinctively took a step back.
She glanced up and down at Yun, who was beautiful, had a great figure, and exuded a cool demeanor. A pang of sadness welled up inside her.
Still not leaving? Are you waiting for me to ask you to go?
Reluctantly, the girl turned to leave.
After she walked away, Yun lightly pressed her lips together and withdrew her hand from his grasp.
Noticing her mood, Jiang Shiyu opened his mouth but ultimately said nothing.
Soon they arrived at a restaurant and ordered two bowls of wontons, but Yun had already lost her appetite.
Halfway through the meal, she couldn’t eat anymore.
Seeing her lack of enthusiasm, Jiang Shiyu also set down his spoon.
As they stepped out onto the street and got into the car, Jiang Shiyu suggested, “Let’s go ice skating!”
“I can’t skate,” Yun replied flatly, her expression equally indifferent.
“Jiang Shiyu, I want to go find someone,” Yun said, feeling increasingly uncomfortable being with him.
When they arrived at the Shu Family's place, they both went inside and found Cheng Zhou there as well. The two of them started playing games in the living room.
Yun and Shu went to another room to whisper to each other.
After hearing what Yun had to say, Shu couldn’t help but burst into laughter, clutching her stomach with tears forming in the corners of her eyes.
“Seriously, how come you run into his ex everywhere? Has every girl in Jiangzhou dated him?”
Yun felt even more frustrated after hearing Shu's words.
In truth, she didn’t mind Jiang Shiyu’s past; it was just that running into his ex on their first outing together was quite off-putting.
