Jiang Shiyu finally stopped kissing her and asked, "Do you know why I remember this now?"
Yun Li shook her head in confusion.
"I forgot that I had a girlfriend back then; all I remember is that a lot fewer girls came to find me, and things became much quieter."
Yun Li looked at him incredulously. "How could you forget? A person so big was always right in front of you."
Jiang Shiyu's gaze deepened as he watched the girl’s lips move. He leaned in and pecked her softly, his voice low and hoarse. "My past relationships might not have been very normal."
Yun Li froze for a moment before pushing him away, biting her lip, feeling upset as she looked at him.
Jiang Shiyu was taken aback by her push, but when he saw her about to cry, he realized she was overthinking things.
He reached out to touch her, but the girl recoiled in resistance. "Don't touch me."
Jiang Shiyu smiled helplessly, his voice gentle. "Hao Hao, don’t think too much; it’s not what you think. I never touched any of the girls I dated before—not even with a single finger. You have to believe me."
Yun Li replied, "Then you..."
"In that month, the power dynamic was in my hands. Whenever I wanted to meet, I would message her. At the same time, I would give her some money; we agreed on this beforehand—each of us getting what we needed without letting the other down."
Jiang Shiyu took Yun Li's hand and kissed the back of it. The girl's hand had warmed up and was no longer cold; the spot where Jiang Shiyu kissed felt like it was burning.
He kissed her reverently, lowering his head. "Hao Hao, the power in our relationship is in your hands."
Yun Li felt as if an electric current had coursed through her, igniting a wave of tingling sensations.
This felt almost unreal to her.
She had never seen Jiang Shiyu like this; no matter what he did, he always seemed carefree and nonchalant, never taking anything to heart or letting anything disturb him. But now he was bowing his head before her, expressing his love.
In just over ten days of being together with Yun Li, Jiang Shiyu found himself becoming increasingly unable to extricate himself from this feeling.
He could sense how much Yun Li loved him while also being drawn to something about her that made him fall deeper.
He admitted that agreeing to be with Yun Li at first was driven by impulse—a strong desire to go against her.
But now, to hell with it all. None of this mattered anymore. He was very clear that he wasn’t acting out of spite, nor was he provoked by anyone else. He had developed feelings for Yun Li, and they were slowly deepening.
It was hard to articulate what liking someone truly meant, as it often started with a spark of attraction that only grew stronger with understanding. This was something he began to realize only after meeting Yun Li. The way she had reacted that night lingered vividly in his mind; a glance, a soft sigh—each moment tempted him deeper into obsession. He didn’t resist; instead, he savored the experience.
Perhaps it was fate’s design, seeing his vulnerability and sending Hao Hao to his side. Unbeknownst to them, the temperature inside the car was rising gradually. Yun Li closed her eyes, responding shyly as his forceful yet uncontrollable kiss swept over her, nearly overwhelming her.
Jiang Shiyu's heart trembled lightly; he felt a mix of fear and relief that he had managed to stay composed and not cross any lines earlier. He couldn’t face Hao Hao like this.
As their lips parted, Jiang Shiyu felt the corners of his eyes redden, struggling to hold back his emotions. His voice was hoarse as he confessed, "Hao Hao, I’ve only ever liked you."
Yun Li slowly opened her eyes, desire shimmering in their depths. Her voice was soft as she asked, "If you don’t like them, why are you still with them?" She finally voiced the question that had been troubling her.
Jiang Shiyu swallowed hard, suppressing his feelings as he kissed her cheek gently. His voice was low and heavy with complexity as he replied, "Can I tell you later?"
Yun Li trusted him; she understood that there were reasons behind his reluctance to share. Nodding slightly, she placed her hand on his chest and pushed gently. "Alright, that’s enough. You don’t need to kiss me anymore."
Her voice was tender and playful, causing Jiang Shiyu to chuckle softly. The sound fell into her ears like a sweet melody, making Yun Li feel weak and unable to push him away any longer.
"Hao Hao," he said, "I’ve held back for so many days; let me make up for it all at once." With that, Jiang Shiyu took Yun Li's hand in his own, their fingers entwined. The touch sent a thrill through Yun Li’s palm, causing her body to shiver and soften under the weight of his affection.
