"Already?!" Yun Li straightened her posture. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
Shu Ran blinked and laughed, "Isn't it a surprise for you? When the time comes, we'll bring Jiang Shiyu out for a stroll and see if he’s good enough to be Hao Hao's boyfriend."
Yun Li's face flushed at the mention, and she playfully scolded, "Ran Ran, be serious. What do you mean by 'stroll'? He's not a dog!"
Shu Ran leaned closer to the camera with a mischievous eyebrow raise. "Oh, are you feeling sorry for him? You can't treat men like that. Feeling sorry for them won’t lead to good outcomes."
Yun Li's clear eyes darted around before she firmly stated her stance, "Anyway, we can't treat him like that."
"Fine, no strolling. How about we just evaluate him?"
"I can finally go back home! I heard Jiangzhou has opened quite a few bars, and the male models there are pretty impressive. We should check them out together!"
Yun Li suddenly started giggling. "Ran Ran, do you remember when you ordered a male model before going abroad and Zhou found out? Would you dare to order again?"
Shu Ran nodded, her expression one of despair. That was the first time she had ordered a male model and got caught—what a humiliation! Her parents found out too because Zhou snitched on her. She ended up being grounded at home for several days without any chance to have fun.
"Is Zhou coming back with you?"
Shu Ran nodded again, looking utterly defeated. "This time we’re not bringing him along; otherwise, he’ll just nag us again. It’s so annoying."
Just as she finished speaking, a deep male voice came through the camera. "Shu Ran, who’s annoying?"
Shu Ran stiffened, her smile turning forced as she replied, "I was talking about Jiang Shiyu! It's so annoying that he’s trying to get close to my Hao Hao."
Yun Li covered her mouth and chuckled softly; it seemed only Zhou could keep Shu Ran in check.
In the next moment, half of Zhou's face appeared on the screen as Shu Ran pulled the camera back. His noble and aloof features came into view.
He rarely showed surprise but now asked, "Yun Li, are you and Jiang Shiyu together?"
"Yes."
Yun Li felt a bit intimidated by Zhou's expression. The first time she saw him angry was during that incident when Shu Ran ordered a male model; she and Yu Meng had been dragged along by Shu Ran then.
At that moment, she and Yu Meng were startled by the sudden entrance of Zhou, who exuded a chilling aura. When he got angry, his face darkened to the point of being menacing, leaving both her and Yu Meng feeling a sense of dread.
Zhou suddenly let out a scoff, his eyes revealing a look that questioned how she had fallen so low. Yun Li's smile faltered for a moment as she bit her lip.
Hao Hao said, "Get some rest, I'm hanging up."
Yun Li nodded, and after ending the call, she sent a message to Jiang Shiyu. "My best friend is coming back from abroad on the tenth in the afternoon; she wants to see you."
After sending it, Yun Li felt a bit anxious, resting her chin on her knees and gently biting her lower lip in apprehension. After a while, he replied, "Sure."
Yun Li initially wanted to say that he knew her too, but stopped herself; he would find out eventually.
On the tenth, Yun Li deliberately applied light makeup, wearing a knitted long dress underneath a pink coat. Her long hair was neatly styled, and she wrapped a scarf around her neck as she looked at herself in the mirror.
With an oval face, almond-shaped eyes, thick eyebrows, a delicate nose bridge, and soft pink lips, she radiated a subtle coolness between her brows. When she smiled, her almond eyes curved charmingly, sparkling like stars.
As Yun Li walked out of her room, she said to Yun Zheng, "Dad, Ran Ran is coming back today. I’m going to pick her up, so don’t wait for me for dinner."
Yun Zheng was on the phone when he heard this and shouted back, "Okay, be careful on the way."
Yun Li took a taxi to the airport and happened to run into Yu Meng and the others.
Yu Meng rushed over and grabbed Yun Li's hand. "I heard you’re in a relationship?"
Her eyes were filled with teasing curiosity, while the two boys beside them regarded Yun Li with scrutinizing gazes.
