Jiang Shiyu was momentarily taken aback, then openly admitted, lowering his gaze to meet hers: "Yes, that's why I want to bring you back."
Yun looked up at him, unable to resist planting a quick kiss on the corner of his lips before shyly pulling away. Was that enough?
Jiang Shiyu's dark eyes deepened at that moment as he pulled her into his embrace, his voice low and husky: "Mm."
The snow, which had initially stopped, began to fall again, and Yun's eyes lit up with delight. "It's snowing!"
Soon, both of their hair was dusted with white flakes as they walked hand in hand down the street.
After dropping Yun off at the apartment building, Jiang Shiyu left.
Back in her dormitory, Qin Nianchu and Chen Jin Xiu turned to look at her as she entered.
Yun suppressed her smile and changed out of her clothes.
Zheng Yating sat in a chair, looking at her tablet with a hint of malice in her tone. "Yun, don't get too carried away. Jiang Shiyu only dates for a month. Just remember not to come back crying after a month."
Yun shot her a clear-eyed glance. "You can't make assumptions before it's over; maybe you should worry about yourself instead!"
"By the way," she added, "Fang Yang was waiting for you downstairs when I got back."
Hearing Fang Yang's name, Zheng Yating frowned deeply and shot Yun an annoyed look.
Qin Nianchu turned to give Yun a thumbs-up in approval.
With just over ten days until winter break, everyone had their tasks to complete.
Yun didn't have time to grab a meal with Jiang Shiyu since they were in different schools. Even on weekends, she needed to stay with Wu Fang, leaving her little time to go out with him.
Before class that day, Liu Han approached Yun. "Yun, I need to tell you something."
Yun adjusted her legs on the desk and turned to her. "What is it?"
"Yesterday, Senior He asked me for some photos," Liu Han began. "I just remembered that the pictures we took at the flower festival are gone."
"Gone?"
Liu Han nodded, placing her legs on the desk as well. "The camera was sold off along with all the photos inside it. The person who bought it paid twenty thousand! I bought that camera for just over five thousand two years ago; it wasn't even worth five thousand anymore. But someone offered twenty thousand right then and there, so I agreed."
Liu Han spoke with excitement, his eyes sparkling with joy as he reveled in the fact that he had stumbled upon a great bargain.
Yun had never met someone so extravagant before, and he found Liu Han's way of thinking quite unique.
Liu Han chuckled, "Yeah! I just wanted to mention it to you, in case I forget to tell you later."
Yun smiled back, "I would probably forget too if you hadn’t said anything."
After class, Yun shared the news with Jiang Shiyu.
Jiang Shiyu was in class when he saw Yun's message after the bell rang. A smile crept onto his face as he replied, "That guy seems a bit foolish."
Yun was eating when his phone chimed. He picked it up to see it was Jiang Shiyu, and his lips curled into a grin. "Have you eaten yet?"
"Not yet, heading there now."
"And you?"
"I'm having Spicy Hot Pot," Yun replied, adding a starry-eyed emoji.
Jiang Shiyu looked at the message on his screen and noted, "Aren't you supposed to be on a diet?"
"I’m not eating meat; just vegetables," Yun responded.
Jiang Shiyu frowned, "How can you have the energy for class without meat?"
"I’ll manage," Yun replied, sending an emoji of a little rabbit carrying a pile of bricks.
"Poor thing," Jiang Shiyu said. "When break comes, I’ll treat you to something extra."
As Jiang Shiyu stood up with his books and headed out of the classroom, Fang Yang approached him teasingly. "Brother Yu, I heard you've turned over a new leaf? And you're with Yun from Jing Wu now?"
Since their relationship had been discovered last time, they no longer hid it, and photos had even circulated around Jinghua Hangda. Recently, Jiang Shiyu often mentioned his girlfriend, saying things like, "My family won’t let me drink," or "My family won’t let me hang out with you guys."
At first, everyone thought Jiang Shiyu was just playing around as usual, but his demeanor suggested otherwise. Everyone knew well what Jiang Shiyu was like when it came to relationships; he never took his girlfriend seriously and it was hard for her to even get him to meet up.
