At a restaurant specializing in Beijing's unique cuisine, everyone settled around a round table. Next to Yun Li sat either Yu Meng or Chen Jin Xiu, while Jiang Shiyu took the seat across from her.
As they began to order their favorite dishes, the server left the private room, and the group started chatting.
Xu Jiaxing remarked, "Peng Qingyu, honestly, seeing you dance is quite impressive—totally different from what I expected."
Peng Qingyu smiled, dressed in a blue shirt that exuded an artistic charm. The beauty of dance lies in its diversity, and each dance style presents its own unique expression.
Yu Meng added, "Boys who dance are really cool—not at all effeminate. There are certain techniques that only guys can pull off, and the daily practice required is something most people can't stick with."
Chen Jin Xiu agreed, saying that many people have a narrow view of dance, often associating it only with suggestive styles seen online. "Few people appreciate our country's Classical Dance, and Modern Dance is even less popular. It's similar to Aerospace; not many pay attention to it. It usually only makes headlines, but most young people don't read the news, so they aren't familiar with it. Yet it's something our country focuses on significantly."
Qin Nianzhe rarely spoke seriously but made this insightful comment, earning him a mental thumbs-up from Qin Nianchu if she were there.
Yun Li responded, "Aerospace does sound like a prestigious profession. It appears frequently in the news because it's a key focus for our country. It represents national achievements far better than dance does; when people hear 'dance' versus 'aerospace,' they often think of dance as trivial while aerospace is what everyone needs."
Jiang Shiyu locked his gaze on Yun Li and surprisingly spoke at length: "Dance may seem insignificant, but it reflects a nation's cultural depth. I don't know how long Classical Dance has existed—at least several years—but historically, dance has often been regarded as lowly. However, in modern times, ancient dances have been preserved, allowing us to understand how our ancestors lived. This preservation is a form of culture that lasts longer than modern technology. Take Western Ballet, for instance; it originated from courtly nobility and has now been adapted for the stage for public enjoyment."
Everyone turned to Jiang Shiyu, surprised by his eloquence and reasoning.
Yun Li's bright almond-shaped eyes widened slightly before she smiled and said, "I didn't expect you to be so insightful."
Qin Nianzhe stood up to pour everyone some red wine. "Come on! Meeting each other is also a kind of fate; I hope we can all shine in our respective fields."
Jiang Shiyu smiled as he raised his glass in agreement. They all clinked glasses and began discussing their professional aspirations.
Yu Meng declared, "I want to establish my own dance troupe in the future."
Chen Jin Xiu looked at Yu Meng and raised her glass towards her. "I believe in you."
The two shared a glance and took a sip of their wine together.
Xu Jiaxing downed a large gulp of wine, feeling invigorated as he stood up and shouted, "I want to become the best Aerospace Designer!"
Zhang Mingyu teased him, "You should probably focus on understanding your classes first!"
Xu Jiaxing scoffed confidently, "I will definitely understand!"
Peng Qingyu turned to Jiang Shiyu and asked, "Jiang Shiyu? I heard your Experimental Middle School is quite famous."
Qin Nianzhe hooked his arm around Jiang Shiyu's neck, a proud expression on his face as if he were Jiang Shiyu himself. "I'm Brother Yu! Back in the day at Experimental Middle School, I was the most impressive figure there, aside from Zhou."
"Peng Qingyu, how do you know Brother Yu?"
Peng Qingyu turned to glance at Yun Li, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "Zhou is an old friend of ours."
Qin Nianzhe's jaw dropped in shock. "Zhou is actually friends with you guys?"
Yu Meng frowned at this remark. "What do you mean? We can't be friends with Zhou?"
Qin Nianzhe quickly clarified, "No, no! What I meant was, how did that quiet guy Zhou manage to become friends with you? Did he step in some good luck or something?"
Hearing him talk about Zhou like that made Yun Li, Yu Meng, and Peng Qingyu unable to hold back their laughter.
Peng Qingyu said, "Zhou and I have known each other since elementary school; we got along really well. There's also someone you might not know—Shu Ran, Zhou's neighbor. They grew up together."
Qin Nianzhe nodded. "I know her. Zhou used to come to our class every day to drag her into studying."
