Qin Nianchu and her classmates, under the guidance of their teacher, headed to Norway for a performance. The bus stopped at the entrance of Jing Wu, and everyone boarded one after another. Yun Li and Chen Jin Xiu came to see her off. Qin Nianzhe also brought along their roommate to cheer her on. Qin Nianchu happily waved at them before getting on the bus.
As the bus drove away, Yun Li and Chen Jin Xiu turned to head back to school. Qin Nianzhe blocked their path and suggested, "Let's grab a meal together! It's been a while since we gathered."
Yun Li was about to refuse when Chen Jin Xiu quickly agreed, "Sure! Let's eat outside the school!" Jiang Shiyu stood nearby, her gaze fixed on Yun Li as they made their way to the snack street.
Yun Li remained quiet throughout the walk, while Chen Jin Xiu had already become familiar with Zhang Mingyu and the others, often playing games together.
They entered a chicken hot pot restaurant known for its great taste and generous portions. They ordered at the entrance before finding a place to sit. Since Yun Li and Chen Jin Xiu were light eaters, they ordered one chicken pot to share. The boys typically ordered larger portions.
After placing their order and receiving the receipt, Yun Li felt a tap on her shoulder.
"Yun Li."
She turned around and immediately smiled; her previously dull almond eyes brightened a little as everyone turned their attention toward her.
"Senior, are you here to eat at this place too?"
He nodded, explaining that he had come out just to grab something casual but was pleasantly surprised to see her.
"Would you like to join us?"
"Sure! Boss, we'll have one chicken pot, mildly spicy, please."
After paying, he continued chatting with Yun Li as they all moved inside. Although it was crowded, the venue was spacious enough for everyone to find seats. A long table could accommodate four people, and two tables pushed together fit them perfectly.
Zhang Mingyu noticed that Yun Li, who had been silent earlier, finally showed a rare smile upon seeing another guy. He curiously asked Chen Jin Xiu sitting next to him about it.
"Who is that guy? Why is Yun Li so enthusiastic about him?"
Chen Jin Xiu lowered his voice so only they could hear, as Yun Li and the senior were sitting far away, engrossed in their own conversation and oblivious to the others.
"The senior from the Classical Dance Department is Shen Huai. He's quite impressive; he collaborated with Yun Li during last year's sports meet," he explained.
At that time, the two had even been teased as the perfect pair.
Qin Nianzhe scoffed dismissively, "Just because they're a good match doesn't mean Yun Li likes him."
Chen Jin Xiu wiped the table in front of him with a napkin, his tone firm. "Not necessarily. Yun Li has praised Senior Shen before, her eyes filled with admiration. Someone as talented as Yun Li should definitely be with someone equally remarkable."
Jiang Shiyu lounged casually, glancing at his phone but not really paying attention to it. His deep-set eyes were fixed on the person diagonally across from him.
Yun Li's eyes sparkled brightly, just like before—her almond-shaped eyes were cheerful, her lips curved into a smile, and she looked relaxed, completely different from how she had been earlier. She had smiled at him like that once too, but suddenly everything had changed.
When the chicken pot arrived, Chen Jin Xiu moved to sit next to Yun Li. She seemed much better now than before. They only ate half a bowl of rice each, but she couldn't help mixing her rice with soup.
"Senior, I heard you say before that you don't plan to go into the theater after graduation. Do you have other plans?"
