Yun smiled as she walked over and hugged Jiang Ci, her voice soft and gentle. "Liao Liao, let me hold you."
Jiang Ci's voice was filled with a hint of grievance. "Mm, thank you, sister."
Xu Nian laughed from the side. "This little one is quite polite."
Jiang Ci looked very small, appearing to be only about four years old. Yun had a strong grip and could easily hold him with one arm while using her other hand to wipe the tears from the corners of his eyes.
"Is your name Jiang Ci?"
Jiang Ci nodded and began to introduce himself. "My full name is Jiang Ci, but my nickname is Xiao Xia Mi. I don’t go by Jiao Jiao Ci. My mom says I’m four and a half this year."
The little guy spoke clearly, each word pronounced distinctly, and his serious expression with furrowed brows bore a resemblance to Jiang Shiyu.
Everyone found him adorable. Yu Meng took a wet wipe and cleaned his hands, then his face, before pinching his cheek. "Xiao Xia Mi, you’re so cute!"
Jiang Shiyu crossed his arms and watched him giggle shyly in Yun’s embrace, narrowing his eyes slightly as he called out, "Jiao Jiao Ci, come here."
Feeling as if he had found a refuge, Jiang Ci clung to Yun's neck, shaking his head in fear. "No, I don’t want to."
When Jiang Shiyu approached to pick him up, Jiang Ci reluctantly allowed himself to be lifted down. Jiang Shiyu then placed him on the ground to let him stand on his own.
Jiang Ci didn’t dare to raise his voice but could only mutter in frustration, "Bad Brother."
Yu Meng leaned over to whisper in Yun's ear, "Who is he?"
Yun whispered back, "A friend."
Yu Meng raised an eyebrow at Yun. "Just a friend?"
Yun's face flushed with embarrassment. "Mm, don’t make wild guesses."
In the end, the group of four turned into a group of six.
Jiang Ci finally began to enjoy himself.
By seven o'clock, however, he was tired; after all, he was still just a child, and playing for that long was quite an achievement.
The sky hadn’t completely darkened yet, and the air remained stiflingly warm. Yun wiped the fine sweat from her forehead before tossing the trash into a bin.
After taking a sip of ice water, she felt much refreshed.
The group exited the amusement park and decided to grab dinner at a nearby mall.
With no energy left, Jiang Ci let Jiang Shiyu carry him completely.
Jiang Shiyu supported him from behind while Jiang Ci rested his head on his shoulder. They casually entered a restaurant.
The six of them sat around a large table, and Jiang Ci was placed on a chair, looking up to see what food was available on the table.
Xu Nian was lively and asked, "Jiang Shiyu, when did you meet Yun?"
"Last month."
"Last month? So you haven't known each other for long."
"By the way, which high school did you go to?" Xu Nian continued to ask, knowing that Peng Qingyu and Yu Meng were from the Jiangzhou Dance Academy Affiliated School, making it impossible for Jiang Shiyu to have attended the same school.
"Experimental Middle School," Jiang Shiyu replied in a flat tone with little inflection.
"Experimental Middle School? We have a friend from there named Shu Ran. Do you know her?"
Jiang Shiyu responded, "No impression."
"What about Cheng Zhou?" Xu Nian switched to another person to ask. "If you don't know Shu Ran, you must know Cheng Zhou!"
Cheng Zhou was known as the top student at Experimental Middle School and was notoriously difficult to pursue; no girl had managed to win his affection so far.
Upon hearing Cheng Zhou's name, Jiang Shiyu raised an eyebrow slightly, a hint of interest appearing in his smile as he relaxed against the backrest with his arms crossed.
"I know him, but we're not close."
