Yun looked over and saw Jiang Shiyu and Jiang Ci. Jiang Ci was crying and shouting while still licking an ice cream cone. The ice cream melted quickly, dripping down to the palm of his hand, and he extended his tongue to lick it up.
Seeing this, Jiang Shiyu frowned deeply, a look of disgust on his face. He took a step back, afraid that Jiang Ci would suddenly rush over to hug him.
After finishing his lick, Jiang Ci glanced over at Yun with wide eyes, and upon noticing her gaze, he put on an even more exaggerated performance. He stomped his feet dramatically, almost rolling on the ground, "Brother, I want to ride the carousel! If you don’t let me play, I won’t go home!"
Many people around turned to look at them, but Jiang Ci didn’t seem to care about the attention from strangers.
Jiang Shiyu shot a cold glance at the crowd, his expression showing even more disdain. He only allowed Jiang Ci to make some noise but didn’t want him to be so loud.
Yun walked over and took out a tissue from her bag to wipe Jiang Ci's tears. "Alright, stop crying. I’ll take you to ride."
Jiang Ci quickly calmed down and obediently said, "Thank you, Sister."
Yun hadn’t expected him to change his mood so quickly and couldn’t help but chuckle softly. "Sorry for causing you trouble."
After wiping away his tears, Yun looked up at him and reassured him, "It’s fine; children’s tempers come and go quickly. Just go along with him a bit."
Jiang Ci successfully climbed onto the carousel. Since it could only accommodate one person, Yun gave her spot to him and couldn’t ride herself. The others had already taken their places while Yun and Jiang Shiyu stood outside watching.
Jiang Ci was having a great time, holding up his ice cream and shouting joyfully.
Yun stood side by side with Jiang Shiyu. "Is he your brother?" she asked.
"My cousin," he replied.
Yun inquired further, "How old is your cousin?"
Jiang Shiyu thought for a moment, falling silent for about ten seconds. When Yun turned to look at him again, he finally said, "He looks about six years old."
Yun observed Jiang Ci’s height and felt he didn’t quite look like a six-year-old.
"Do you usually take care of him like this?" she asked.
Jiang Shiyu nodded. Seeing Jiang Ci happily making noise made a hint of disdain flash across his face. "With him smiling like that, it’s as if I’ve been treating him poorly."
"Actually, you don't need to be so serious with kids. He's still so young; just go along with him a bit when you take him out to play. That way, you won't get tired," said Jiang Shiyu, his voice low and laced with a lazy tone, giving off an air of nonchalance.
"It's true. Kids are like that; you can't think of them with an adult's mindset. Besides, the carousel isn't an intense ride; even little ones can enjoy it."
"Got it, Yun."
Why does she always add 'classmate' after calling her name? It feels a bit strange.
As the carousel came to an end, Jiang Ci reached out for Jiang Shiyu to pick him up. He caught sight of the remnants of ice cream on Jiang Shiyu's hand, and a look of disdain was clearly written on his face.
"I'll get down myself."
Jiang Ci glanced at the distance below and immediately made a pained expression. "I don't want to; it's too high. I'm scared."
Jiang Shiyu clicked his tongue and moved over to lift him down.
Seemingly aware of his intentions, Jiang Ci shouted, "Don't pull me! I don't like that! I want you to carry me!"
Jiang Shiyu had never seen such a clingy child before. He called out the nickname he had given Jiang Ci: "Jiao Jiao Ci, if you keep acting up, next time your mom scolds you, I won't step in."
Jiang Ci immediately pouted, looking as if he was about to cry.
Yu Meng couldn't help but laugh from the side.
