For seven days, Yun had been busy at home. She woke up early each morning to practice her routines, and after finishing, she would work on her dance drama and positioning. By the time she was done, it was almost time for lunch.
Most of her former classmates were from the local area and had gone to different places for school, but now that National Day had arrived, everyone was back. Yun made plans with a few friends from her old class to visit the amusement park after sunset.
The daytime heat was unbearable, and everyone felt too lazy to go out in the sun. At five in the afternoon, when the sun had lessened its intensity, Yun tidied herself up and headed out.
Upon arriving at the entrance of the amusement park, she found her friends already there: Peng Qingyu, Xu, and Yu Meng. Peng Qingyu and Yu Meng were both former classmates from the dance class, while Xu was a friend of Yun's best friend, Shu Ran, from elementary school. They had all spent so much time together that they were quite familiar with one another.
Yu Meng and Xu were bickering as usual, while Peng Qingyu watched them with amusement. When Yun arrived, Yu Meng rushed over and hugged her tightly. "Yun! You're here! It's been so long!"
The last time they met was during the summer vacation when Yu Meng had been performing out of town.
Yun smiled and asked, "What are you and Xu arguing about this time?"
Yu Meng huffed lightly. "He said I've gained weight."
Xu maintained his typical straightforward demeanor. "Well, last time your legs weren't as thick."
Hearing this only fueled Yu Meng's anger further; if Yun hadn't stepped in to stop her, Xu might have gotten into trouble.
Xu was a straightforward guy studying at Jiangzhou University. Both Peng Qingyu and Yu Meng were students at Jiangzhou Dance Academy. The three of them were all in Jiangzhou, while Yun and Shu Ran were in Jing City and abroad respectively.
After buying their tickets and entering the park, they found it quite crowded in the evening. Many popular attractions required waiting in line, but the lively atmosphere made it enjoyable.
As soon as Yu Meng saw Yun, they started chatting excitedly; girls could always find something to talk about no matter where they were.
Shu Ran had originally planned to return for National Day but couldn't make it because she had failed a course last semester. This semester, Cheng Zhou was keeping a tight rein on her studies, making it impossible for her to come back.
Yu Meng burst into laughter as she recounted stories from their past adventures.
As Shu Ran was venting with the two of them, Yu Meng couldn't help but burst into laughter.
Shu Ran and Cheng Zhou had grown up together, inseparable since childhood. Shu Ran had always dreamed of separating from Cheng Zhou, believing that once they entered university, they would finally part ways since Cheng Zhou was going abroad for studies, while Shu Ran had no such plans.
But in the next moment, Shu Ran's parents sent her abroad to join Cheng Zhou. It was quite amusing when you thought about it.
Yun laughed too, her eyes sparkling with mirth. With Cheng Zhou around to keep her in check, she felt secure; otherwise, she would definitely cause some trouble on her own. Yu Meng, with a lollipop in her mouth, wore a knowing expression and said, "See? They are simply meant for each other." The two of them echoed in unison, exchanging glances and sharing a light chuckle.
Although it was already afternoon, the heat lingered. Yun went to buy ice cream while they queued for the carousel. Arriving at the McDonald's counter, she found a long line of people waiting for ice cream.
As she glanced down at her phone, a familiar voice scolded from behind, "Jiang Ci! What are you running around for?"
Yun looked up in surprise and saw Jiang Shiyu with a dark expression on his face, worry and irritation etched across his features.
A little boy stood in line, looking up at Jiang Shiyu with a pitiful expression and daring to retort, "Who told you not to buy me ice cream?"
"Look at your teeth! How can you still eat sweets?" Jiang Shiyu replied sternly.
Jiang Ci stubbornly pouted, his eyes red as he insisted, "I want to eat it!" He looked like a little wolf dog refusing to back down.
Jiang Shiyu was infuriated; his peach blossom eyes narrowed dangerously as he picked Jiang Ci up with one hand. "Come back with me."
Jiang Ci struggled and jumped down, running toward the front window. "I won't!"
The onlookers were entertained by the scene when Jiang Shiyu's gaze met Yun's eyes.
