The weather was hot, and the two quickly made their way to the Er Cafeteria as mentioned by Qin Nianzhe. Qin Nianchu had been there a few times, so she knew the route. As they arrived at the entrance of the cafeteria, they spotted a few people waiting outside.
The other two boys were likely Jiang Shiyu and Qin Nianzhe's roommates. Upon seeing Yun, their eyes lit up; they had met Qin Nianchu before, so they weren't too surprised.
Zhang Yu hooked his arm around Qin Nianzhe's shoulder and leaned in to whisper in his ear, "You’ve got a sister."
Qin Nianzhe scoffed proudly and pushed him away. Jiang Shiyu maintained his usual calm demeanor, casually putting his hands in his pockets as he turned to walk inside first.
As they pulled aside the plastic door curtain, the cool air conditioning of the cafeteria immediately alleviated their heat. Zhang Yu, Qin Nianchu, and Yun began chatting. "I heard that your Jing Wu group often goes out to perform. Do you have any shows this year? We’ll definitely come to support you."
Qin Nianchu replied, "At the end of this semester, our Chinese Folk Dance group has a performance that outside schools can attend, but the number of viewers is limited. I’ll get you a few tickets when the time comes. Our Classical Dance group has one too, but it might be out of town."
"In November, there are also performances at various dance colleges for learning exchanges, so after National Day, things might get really busy." As Yun mentioned this, Qin Nianchu remembered that their Chinese Folk Dance group would also be performing abroad in November.
Feeling a bit deflated at the thought of more busyness ahead, Qin Nianchu sighed. Xu Jiaxing slowly moved closer to stand beside Yun and said, "That sounds awesome! Make sure to let us know when it happens; we’ve never seen a dance performance before."
Yun smiled, her clear eyes sparkling with joy. The four of them continued chatting without interruption. Qin Nianchu nudged Xu Jiaxing aside, making it five people chattering away. Meanwhile, Jiang Shiyu walked alone with his hands still in his pockets, tall and upright; Yun could see his strong back muscles as she glanced over.
They all got their meals from the window and found a spot to sit down. Just as Yun settled into her seat, Xu Jiaxing sat down across from her. Behind them, Qin Nianzhe and Zhang Yu shot him a fierce glare for not getting a spot first.
Qin Nianchu sat on Yun's right and looked at Zhang Yu and Qin Nianzhe. "What’s that supposed to mean? Can’t I sit across from her?" Her tone carried a hint of warning.
Zhang Yu immediately became obsequious and said, "Of course! It’s an honor to sit in front of Young Lady Qin; I think your brother is more deserving of that honor." He then took a seat next to Xu Jiaxing.
Qin Nianzhe tried to turn around to sit on Yun's left but found that Jiang Shiyu had already taken that spot. Earlier, while the three were subtly competing for positions, Jiang Shiyu had calmly walked away from them and created some distance.
She seemed reluctant to stand with the three fools, so she walked over to the side where Yun was, placing her tray down before sitting down calmly.
There was no need to compete for seats with them; he remained composed and steady, his brows and eyes relaxed, revealing no emotions. Jiang Shiyu found herself facing Zhang Yu, while Qin Nianzhe could only sit across from Qin Nianchu.
Yun took a serving of vegetables along with braised pork ribs and rice. Qin Nianchu wanted to get more dishes but managed to control herself, opting for a serving of chicken wings, braised beef, and rice. She exchanged bites with Yun, allowing her to enjoy four different dishes.
Jiang Shiyu sat down next to her, causing Yun to feel a wave of nervousness. However, she maintained an air of calmness on the surface, giving no indication of her unease.
“Yun, I heard that when you were admitted to Jing Wu, you ranked first in both the Jiangzhou Dance Affiliated School and the Jing Wu program?”
Once again brought up was the topic from a year ago. Yun Wan'er nodded, “Yes, at that time, I indeed ranked first in the Affiliated High School as well as in Jing Wu.”
