Qin Nianchu was busy editing the video that the two of them had just recorded, not paying attention to what was happening around her. Zheng Yating had also brought a few boys over and sat down opposite them.
"Yun Li, Jiang Shiyu, do you want to play?" Zheng Yating tossed a deck of cards onto the table.
Jiang Shiyu lazily leaned back on the sofa, her voice dripping with indifference. "I'm not interested."
Zheng Yating frowned slightly and suggested, "How about spin the bottle? Whoever it points to has to choose between truth or dare."
Jiang Shiyu remained unamused and replied, "Boring."
Yun Li stifled a laugh; it was obvious from her two-word response that she was just being dismissive.
Frustrated, Zheng Yating held back her irritation and asked, "Then what do you want to play?"
Jiang Shiyu took a sip of coconut juice and shrugged casually. "Whatever."
Qin Nianchu couldn't help but laugh out loud. Although she sometimes found Jiang Shiyu's attitude annoying, she enjoyed what she was saying today.
Zheng Yating was getting exasperated, and her boyfriend beside her tried to soothe her. "How about we play tag instead?"
"I'll explain the rules; you probably haven't played this before. Everyone plays rock-paper-scissors together. If two people tie, they have to tag each other. If you're slow or don't tag at all, you have to take a shot."
Zheng Yating dismissed it with a wave of her hand. "What's so fun about that?"
The boys only looked at Yun Li. "What do you think, Yun Li?"
Zheng Yating glanced at her boyfriend, feeling somewhat dissatisfied.
Yun Li replied, "I'm fine with it."
Jiang Shiyu set down her coconut juice and said nonchalantly, "Sure."
That meant there were no objections. A new game had started, and everyone gradually gathered around. The table quickly filled up with nine people—four boys and five girls—making for quite a crowd. Yun Li thought about the chances of being paired with one of the girls.
The other boys were already getting excited, their eyes sparkling as they occasionally glanced at Yun Li. Jiang Shiyu remained relaxed, maintaining her usual demeanor.
The person who suggested the game called out: "Rock, paper, scissors!"
A multitude of hands suddenly appeared in the midst of the game. Yun Li stared in confusion, her hand was enveloped by someone beside her. A pair of large hands wrapped around hers, the back of the hand adorned with a dark mole that Yun Li recognized.
In an instant, her heart skipped a beat. Turning her head, she saw Jiang Shiyu sitting up straight, leaning a bit closer to her. His palm was warm and dry, tightly holding her hand.
There was bound to be someone left out among the nine participants. The boy who was left out let out a wail, lamenting that he almost held hands with Yun Li. Hearing this, Yun Li blinked in bewilderment; she had just seen a pair of hands reaching for her but hadn’t been able to grasp them.
Qin Nianchu and Qin Nianzhe, in perfect harmony, grabbed each other's hands. Zheng Yating quickly clasped hands with another boy but soon let go.
With sharp eyes, he glared at the intertwined hands of Yun Li and Jiang Shiyu, his tone irritated: "Let’s do it again." The boy had been drinking, and the game continued.
This time, Yun Li chose scissors. She glanced around quickly and spotted a manicured hand making the same gesture. Without hesitation, she moved to meet that hand. But in the next moment, she was intercepted.
Jiang Shiyu's hand firmly grasped hers again, causing Yun Li to freeze once more. Everyone turned to look, but Jiang Shiyu casually released her hand and slowly said, "Sorry, I misread."
The girl in the black spaghetti strap dress who hadn’t held hands with Jiang Shiyu shot an annoyed glare at Yun Li. Meanwhile, the girl who had missed her chance with Yun Li seemed to pick up on something and became somewhat unhappy.
Yun Li didn’t pay attention to any of this; her ears felt hot as she slightly lowered her head and remained silent. The spot where he had held her still felt warm.
Everyone began teasing Jiang Shiyu to drink more. Without hesitation, he reached for a nearby bottle and took a swig.
