The two of them bought their meals and sat down in front of her with their trays.
Qin Nianzhe sat across from her, while Jiang Shiyu took a seat beside him. Yun Li dared not look over, afraid of being noticed.
As he ate, Qin Nianzhe asked, "Yun Li, is your last name Yun?"
Yun Li nodded.
"It's quite a unique surname," he remarked, though he meant to say that the character for Yun was a bit casual. Realizing how that might come off as offensive, he quickly shifted his gaze to the fatty meat beside her on the plate. "Don’t you eat fatty meat?"
"Not really," she replied.
Jiang Shiyu also didn’t care for fatty meat. By the way, I forgot to introduce him; his name is Jiang Shiyu.
Only then did Yun Li feel brave enough to look at Jiang Shiyu. Their eyes met, and she held her breath, pretending to be calm as she said, "Hello."
Jiang Shiyu nodded in response.
Noticing Yun Li's reaction, Qin Nianzhe felt relieved that she seemed uninterested in Jiang Shiyu. "Yun Li, how come you're in the same dorm as Nianchu from the Chinese Folk Dance Department? Aren't you studying Classical Dance?" To avoid any awkwardness among the three of them, he kept asking questions.
Yun Li swallowed the vegetables in her mouth and replied slowly, "The dorms for the Chinese Folk Dance Department and Classical Dance Department are all full. Nianchu and I ended up in our Modern Dance Department dorm instead." She glanced down at her plate, where the grilled meat was sprinkled with a layer of chili powder. The grilled meat looked tempting, but she knew it was too easy to gain weight from it.
"No wonder," Qin Nianzhe said with a chuckle. "I was wondering how you ended up sharing a dorm with Nianchu."
Yun Li smiled lightly, while Jiang Shiyu remained quiet, focused on his meal without saying a word.
After finishing their meals, the three of them walked out of the cafeteria together.
"Thank you! The food at Jingwu Cafeteria is really good," Yun Li said with a bright smile that lit up her flawless face. "If you like it here, feel free to come often."
"Definitely," they both replied.
Jiang Shiyu was a bit impatient and said to Qin Nianzhe, "Let's go."
"Alright, see you later." Qin Nianzhe waved to Yun Li.
Once the two turned to walk towards the school gate, Yun Li dared to take a bold glance at him. The boy's back was not weak; just by looking at his shoulders and back, it was clear that he had a habit of working out.
It wasn't until their figures disappeared that Yun Li withdrew her gaze. Although they hadn't spoken much, she had at least seen him.
Yun Li checked the time and realized she still had an hour of free time. She changed clothes in her dormitory and decided to lie down in the corner of Wu Fang's room for a nap.
After classes in the afternoon, she coincidentally finished at the same time as Qin Nianchu, and they agreed to go to the cafeteria together.
When they met downstairs in the teaching building, they headed to the cafeteria together.
"Your brother brought something for you; I left it on your table," Qin Nianchu said as she hugged Yun Li. "Thanks, Li Li Bao Bei! I have to wear that Tibetan Dance outfit for rehearsal tomorrow. My schedule is packed today, but luckily Qin Nianzhe is free."
Yun Li pondered how to bring up the topic of Jiang Shiyu. After thinking for several seconds, she finally asked, "Nianchu, did your brother come with another boy today? Is he also your brother?"
Qin Nianchu thought for a moment. "Another person? Oh, you must be talking about Jiang Shiyu."
"He's not my brother; he and Qin Nianzhe are from Jinghua University’s Aerospace College."
Qin Nianzhe was always with him, so it must be him.
Suddenly, Qin Nianchu became serious and said earnestly, "Li Li, that Jiang Shiyu is not a good guy. You mustn't fall for him; otherwise, you'll end up in a terrible situation."
Yun Li's eyes widened in shock, her expression a mix of surprise and confusion. "Why?"
Jiang Shiyu was notorious among the major schools in Jing City as a playboy; he had girlfriends from various universities.
He could form two soccer teams with all the girls he's dated.
In their class alone, two girls had been with him before; both ended up heartbroken after just a month.
Yun Li nodded in understanding; she had known this information already. However, hearing it again still made her feel uneasy.
"But Li Li, you have unique and high standards; you definitely wouldn't fall for Jiang Shiyu." With that reassurance, Qin Nianchu felt less worried.
She certainly didn't want her good friend to be harmed.
Yun Li Dan smiled faintly.
My taste isn't particularly unique, yet I found myself drawn to him.
