Yun Yichen and his companions left the Nine Nether Demon Sword behind as they set out to find the next artifact—the Lingwen Jade Pendant. The ancient texts contained scant information about the Lingwen Jade Pendant, only mentioning its close ties to the origins of Lingwen and that it had once appeared in a mysterious stone forest. This stone forest, located in the eastern part of the Lingyuan Realm, was known as the Lingwen Stone Forest. It was said that every stone within this forest was inscribed with ancient Lingwen, radiating waves of mysterious power.
After a long journey, Yun Yichen and his group finally reached the edge of the Lingwen Stone Forest. From a distance, they could see a rugged expanse of bizarre stones rising between heaven and earth. Each stone took on a unique shape—some shot up like swords piercing the clouds, while others resembled ferocious beasts baring their claws. A faint glow of Lingwen enveloped the forest, as if it had been bestowed with life.
Yun Yichen took out the Qiankun Compass, attempting to harness its power to locate clues about the Lingwen Jade Pendant within this enigmatic forest. However, upon infusing it with spiritual energy, the compass's needle spun wildly, unable to find direction. "The Lingwen power here is too chaotic; the compass is being interfered with," Yun Yichen said, frowning. Su Yao gazed at the mysterious stone forest with excitement in her eyes. "It seems our task won't be easy, but that also means there must be great secrets hidden here." Lin Yu tightened his grip on his sword and nodded, saying, "No matter what difficulties arise, we will face them together."
Yun Yichen put away the compass and led everyone cautiously into the Lingwen Stone Forest. As they stepped into the forest, a powerful wave of Lingwen energy surged towards them, as if countless invisible hands were tugging at their bodies. Yun Yichen immediately activated the Chaos Lingwen, forming a protective barrier around himself to withstand the impact of the Lingwen energy. Su Yao and Lin Yu also channeled their spiritual energy, closely following behind Yun Yichen.
They searched throughout the stone forest, carefully examining each stone for its Lingwen inscriptions. However, these inscriptions appeared chaotic and lacked any discernible pattern. Yun Yichen used his Lingyuan Eye in an attempt to decipher their meanings but found that they seemed shrouded in a layer of mysterious power that obscured their secrets.
Just when they began to feel lost, Yun Yichen suddenly noticed that one stone ahead bore a faintly glowing Lingwen that differed from those on other stones. He quickly approached it for a closer look and saw that the Lingwen formed a vague pattern resembling a guiding direction. A spark of realization ignited within him as he shared his discovery with Su Yao and Lin Yu; together they decided to follow the direction indicated by the pattern.
Following the guidance of the Lingwen on the stone, Yun Yichen and his companions trudged through the forest with great difficulty. Along their journey, they encountered various dangers. The Lingwen within the forest not only possessed immense power but also triggered bizarre phenomena. At times, fissures would suddenly open in the ground, revealing bottomless chasms; at other times, bolts of Lingwen lightning would descend from above with tremendous force.
During one such encounter while dodging a bolt of Lingwen lightning, they inadvertently stumbled into an area known as the Illusory Spirit Maze. This region was shrouded in thick Lingwen mist, where various illusory scenes appeared intermittently, blurring the line between reality and illusion. As soon as Su Yao stepped into the maze, she found herself confronted by her most cherished vision—becoming the leader of the Lingyuan Sect, revered and adored by all. She instinctively began walking toward this illusory scene, her eyes filled with obsession.
Yun Yichen quickly realized that Su Yao had fallen into the trap of an illusionary array. He swiftly summoned his Lingwen power in an attempt to awaken her. "Su Yao! Wake up! It's all an illusion!" he shouted while forming a barrier around her to isolate her from the maze's influence. Lin Yu assisted by unleashing wind-based spiritual energy to disperse the surrounding mist.
Thanks to Yun Yichen and Lin Yu's efforts, Su Yao finally regained her senses. Looking around in trepidation, she said, "I think I just lost myself for a moment; I'm glad you were here." Yun Yichen reassured her, "It's alright; this Illusory Spirit Maze is extremely dangerous; we must remain cautious."
They pressed on and eventually arrived at the location indicated by the Lingwen pattern. There stood a massive stone platform covered in more intricate Lingwen inscriptions. In its center was a recess shaped remarkably like that described in ancient texts regarding the Lingwen Jade Pendant. Yun Yichen speculated that the pendant might very well be hidden within this recess.
However, just as they prepared to approach the platform, a swarm of Lingwen Puppets surged forth from within the stone forest. These puppets were composed of stone and infused with Lingwen power; they were enormous and immensely strong. They swung their massive arms and charged toward Yun Yichen and his companions.
Immediately taking battle stances, Yun Yichen and his group prepared to confront the Lingwen Puppets. He unleashed his Chaos Lingwen to summon powerful Lingwen energy for an attack against them. Su Yao wielded her sword skillfully, executing fierce strikes aimed at severing their connection to Lingwen. Meanwhile, Lin Yu harnessed wind-based spiritual energy to create powerful gusts around them to disrupt their movements.
During this intense battle, Yun Yichen observed that although these puppets were formidable, their actions were controlled by the inscriptions on the platform. He realized that if he could destroy these inscriptions, he could defeat them. Focusing intently, he unleashed a full-powered strike—a beam of Chaos Radiance aimed directly at the inscriptions on the platform.
Just as Chaos Radiance was about to hit its target, a powerful defensive inscription suddenly rose from the platform and blocked it entirely. Shocked by this unexpected strength of defense on the platform's inscriptions, Yun Yichen felt alarmed as he realized they were far more potent than he had anticipated. At that moment, taking advantage of their distraction from his attack's failure, the Lingwen Puppets launched an even fiercer assault against them.
In their moment of despair, Yun Yichen suddenly noticed a brief pause in their attacking rhythm. Observing closely revealed that each pause corresponded with adjustments being made by the inscriptions on the platform controlling them. Seizing this opportunity, he executed his Spirit Pattern Binding technique to temporarily restrain several puppets.
With time on their side while some puppets were bound, Yun Yichen scrutinized again at those inscriptions on the platform and finally identified their weakness in defense. He unleashed his strongest version of Chaos Lingwen; a beam of light pierced through its weak point in defense and successfully destroyed those inscriptions.
As soon as those inscriptions vanished from view atop the platform, all remaining puppets lost control and collapsed onto the ground below them. With sighs of relief escaping their lips at last after overcoming this challenge, they approached towards its center where they discovered indeed there lay a pendant radiating soft light—the very same Lingwen Jade Pendant.
The moment Yun Yichen picked up this pendant in hand; he felt an overwhelming consciousness surge into his mind’s eye revealing its origins along with truths surrounding its guardian role throughout history. He learned that this pendant had been created by an ancient Lingwen Master who sought to protect secrets related to Lingwen itself—it not only contained immense power but also chronicled its origins and evolution over time itself! To safeguard it further against threats posed by outsiders seeking its power—the Master had created both this very Stone Forest along with those formidable Puppets while embedding part of their own consciousness within them becoming what would now be known as Guardian Beasts!
Filled with respect for this ancient Master after uncovering such profound truths about him; Yun Yichen carefully stored away his newfound treasure alongside Su Yao & Lin Yu before departing from within those mystical woods together once more—having now gathered four artifacts leaving only one remaining: The Chaos Spirit Pearl! Knowing well enough how much urgency lay ahead given how forces would surely stir once all artifacts came together—he understood they must hasten towards finding it lest unforeseen troubles arise!
