Ye Sha looked at the yellowing and darkened banana peel hanging from Si Yin's coat with disdain. She wanted to reach out and help him remove it but hesitated, fearing she would dirty her hands, which had just been moisturized.
Si Yin noticed her expression and slightly furrowed his brow.
Jin Zisu stepped forward, brushed the banana peel off Si Yin, and reluctantly handed him her handkerchief. "Here, what's with that expression? Banana peels can be good for your skin; just wipe it off."
Si Yin found it both amusing and frustrating. He realized that he had indeed forgotten about helping Jin Zisu find a job because he had been too busy with the case.
As they were in this standoff, Si Yin's phone rang. "A Dong... Yeah, I know, I'm on my way..."
He answered briefly before hanging up and preparing to drive.
Just as he pressed the remote to unlock the car, someone else dashed ahead of him and jumped into the passenger seat.
"Boss! What is that woman doing?!" Ye Sha exclaimed in dissatisfaction, her sharp voice making Si Yin wince.
"Don't worry about it; I'm leaving," Si Yin replied curtly. He disliked others interfering in his personal matters and got into the car, leaving Ye Sha behind to stomp her feet in frustration.
Twenty minutes later, Si Yin parked in front of a gym and entered without a word. Jin Zisu followed closely behind him, her demeanor suggesting she wouldn't leave until she found a job today.
"Hey, Young Master Si!" A tall, muscular man approached Si Yin with a smile while wiping sweat from his brow. The two exchanged a fist bump in unison.
"And who might this be?" A Dong teased as he grinned at Jin Zisu, making her feel quite uncomfortable.
"Debtor." Si Yin shrugged helplessly, ignoring A Dong's puzzled gaze as he walked straight to the familiar equipment to start his workout. "Sigh, I've been so busy reviewing cases and looking for evidence lately that I haven't had much time to exercise. My whole body feels stiff and uncomfortable."
"Still dare to say that? You're the one I asked to help me find someone! My gym is on the verge of closing down without a good accountant!" A Dong threw a towel from a distance.
Si Yin stepped back to catch the towel, but he didn't notice that Jin Zisu had been following him and accidentally bumped into her.
With Si Yin's weight, it was easy to knock the slender Jin Zisu down.
The distance between them was less than a centimeter.
Si Yin could even see her long, curled eyelashes clearly.
Thump—thump—Si Yin couldn't tell if the frantic heartbeat was his or hers.
Warm sunlight poured in, illuminating their profiles, creating a scene as beautiful as a painting.
Time seemed to stand still.
Jin Zisu and Si Yin both blushed simultaneously, scrambling to get up.
Si Yin pointed at Jin Zisu and decisively said to A Dong, "Then it's her."
"We? We didn't do anything," Si Yin and Jin Zisu exchanged a glance, completely unaware of how out of place that statement was at that moment.
“Oh… I see…” A Dong chuckled meaningfully, stroking his graying stubble, and said to the two of them, “So the little accountant is Mrs. Si, huh? Really, you never introduced her before.”
Jin Zisu awkwardly rubbed her forehead… Did they really look like they had that kind of relationship?
Well, she had to admit that in this situation, it was actually more beneficial for A Dong to continue misunderstanding their relationship.
Thus, feeling trapped, Jin Zisu forced a smile and accepted the sudden title of “Mrs. Si.”
