Xu Zhuzhen spent her days weeping, and in less than half a month, she had become unrecognizably thin.
Wang Zhaoran had used his connections to learn that Wang Jianjun would be sent to the county for execution at the end of the month. There was no doubt that they had to save him; the key was how. Perhaps their only chance lay during the transport.
"Yu Suihuan, I’m sorry for everything. Please, for the sake of our acquaintance, take care of my child!" Xu Zhuzhen pleaded as she knelt on the ground, bowing her head.
Yu Suihuan felt a headache coming on. How many times had this been?
"If he dies, you won’t survive either, right? So you two are true lovers, and the child is just an accident? I’m not a charity organization; you should take care of your own child!" Wang Jianjun snapped. "He won't die; I won't let him die!"
After saying this, Yu Suihuan returned to her small courtyard. She just wanted Xu Zhuzhen to pull herself together. She understood what Xu was going through, but crying all day long wouldn’t help at all.
"Yu Suihuan, did I come on too strong just now?"
Wang Zhaoran prepared a cup of Malt Milk and pushed it towards Yu Suihuan.
"Oh, I actually thought I was being too lenient. Wang Jianjun isn’t dead yet; I want to wake her up!"
"What if I go?"
"What are you going to do? Storm the execution site?"
"Right now, it seems there’s no better way!"
"But there are still two days left! Let me think it over!"
Yu Suihuan certainly didn’t want Wang Zhaoran to get into trouble. If they wanted to resolve this without any confrontation, it could be done. All Wang Zhaoran needed to do was inform Wang Jianjun that someone would come to rescue him during transport and set up a roadblock.
Wang Jianjun could escape under the pretense of needing to use the restroom and would be taken into safety. But how could she explain all this to Wang Zhaoran? Should she tell him she had superpowers?
That night, Yu Suihuan arrived at her small courtyard and tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep.
"Lai Fu, didn’t you tame a pack of wolves on the mountain before?"
"Yes!"
Lai Fu called out twice. Recently, he had been keeping his mouth shut more often because he was about to become a father.
"Can they hear you?"
"Of course, do they dare not listen? Who do you think I am?"
"Since that's the case, things will be much easier."
If someone were to intercept the prisoner, Yu Suihuan didn’t know Wang Zhaoran’s little brothers well enough. If anything went wrong, it would be a big deal. But animals were different; were the police supposed to deal with animal crimes?
The date was set for Wang Jianjun's execution in the county town. At this moment, there were only two weeks left until Wang Zhaoran and Yu Suihuan's college entrance exams.
On this day, Yu Suihuan and Wang Zhaoran arrived early at the location they had previously discussed to hide and wait for their signal. This was a mountain road, also a route that the Prison Transport Vehicle had to take.
Lai Fu led a pack of wolves lurking on both sides of the road, ready to spring into action.
Around ten in the morning, the Prison Transport Vehicle finally arrived. Yu Suihuan and Wang Zhaoran pushed several large rocks down from halfway up the mountain to block the vehicle's path.
"What’s going on? Let’s go check it out!"
As the doors opened, several police officers got out. Just as they were preparing to clear the roadblock, a pack of wolves suddenly surged out from both sides of the road.
"Wolves? How can there be wolves here?"
Before the officers could react, they found themselves surrounded by the pack.
"Kuai Team, is this how we meet our end? We don’t even have guns on us!"
A young officer's voice trembled; who wouldn’t be afraid when faced with a pack of wolves?
