As soon as he finished tidying up, he heard someone shouting outside the tomb.
"Godfather, are you in there?"
"Heng Er? Didn't I tell you to leave? Why are you back?"
"Don't be afraid! Step back a few paces, Heng Er will blow open the stone door and rescue you!"
Wang Heng was already close to escaping, but leaving his godfather behind was not something a man of honor would do. So, he grabbed a few grenades without hesitation and turned back to assist Wang Zhao. He thought it through; if his godfather couldn't defeat them, he would stay with him and face them together.
"Hey, it's not me, Heng Er!"
Wang Zhao was just organizing his thoughts when a deafening explosion erupted, sending debris flying everywhere. The shockwave lifted him off the ground and slammed him back down, the intense heat scorching his entire body painfully. Countless shards of stone struck his face and body, leaving deep cuts, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.
At that moment, the head of the female corpse also met its fate; propelled by the shockwave, it crashed against the wall and rolled down. Her once flowing hair was nearly burned away.
Damn it, she had waited here for hundreds of years. Just when she was about to see the light of day again, she ended up as a bald ghost.
"Godfather! Godfather, where are you? Heng Er is here to save you!"
Wang Heng rushed into the tomb with a flashlight and finally saw Wang Zhao lying on the ground, barely conscious.
"Godfather! I can't believe you're hurt so badly! Don't worry; Heng Er will risk everything to get you out!"
Wang Heng helped Wang Zhao up, tears welling in his eyes. Memories flooded back to that day when they returned to the village; how his godfather had protected him from those vicious villains.
His godfather had shown him loyalty and affection; how could he possibly abandon him now?
"Cough cough cough... Heng Er..."
Wang Zhao struggled to utter a few words, blood seeping from the corner of his mouth.
"Godfather, do you have something to say to Heng Er?"
"Heng Er!"
At this moment, Wang Zhao could not afford to feel moved. He struggled to lift his right hand and pointed at the severed head of a woman rolling on the ground.
Wang Heng followed Wang Zhao's finger and saw a dark, ball-like object on the floor.
He focused his gaze and realized it looked like a human head. When he left, Godfather was engaged in a life-and-death struggle with Heizi; it was likely that this head was severed by Godfather himself.
Sticky and grimy, it was disgusting to look at. Godfather must have found this head too much of an eyesore.
Thinking of this, Wang Heng gently cradled Wang Zhao's head in his hands and laid him down on the ground.
Wang Zhao guessed that Wang Heng might misunderstand again, so he hurriedly tried to grab his sleeve, but his injuries left him without strength.
Wang Heng approached the head and kicked it away with force. The head struck the wall with a crack and rolled back down to the ground.
Wang Zhao's outstretched right hand trembled as he pulled it back, covering his eyes.

"Godfather, let's go. Heng Er will take you home!"
"Heng Er, please listen to what Godfather has to say!"
Wang Zhao briefly recounted the events to Wang Heng; this kid was reckless in many ways.
After hearing Wang Zhao's account, cold sweat dripped down Wang Heng's back. This was a female ghost; showing such disrespect to her corpse could lead to dire consequences if they were haunted!
Wang Heng pulled out a backpack and trembled as he stepped forward.
"I'm sorry, um, are you alright?"
Looking at the shattered skull scattered on the ground, Wang Heng thought, how could anyone be alright?
