"Brother Lai, I'm sorry, but I can't let you live! The treasures in this tomb belong to me alone! All of it is mine! Hahaha, in the next life, you can be my little brother, and I'll protect you forever! Brother Lai, it's time for you to go!"
Heizi was about to pounce when Wang Mang grabbed him firmly.
At that moment, Wang Mang had just finished off Xiao Wu and was already seeing red. He shared Heizi's thoughts—he wanted to hoard all the treasures for himself. Anyone who dared to stand in his way would face death!
The two of them felt invincible due to their size and strength, believing they could easily deal with anyone else.
Heizi lowered his head and turned, trying to shake off Wang Mang's grip. In the process, he managed to slice open Wang Mang's thigh.
Blood gushed out, and Wang Mang cursed under his breath before swinging a punch at Heizi's face.
Heizi didn’t have time to dodge and was hit hard, feeling dizzy. He shook his head to regain his senses.
Both men thought their size and strength made them superior. They dismissed Wang Zhao and his weak son, thinking that defeating them would be an easy task.
Thus, they ignored Wang Zhao and his son entirely and continued their brawl.
The tomb chamber was too small, and they blocked the entrance. Shooting wouldn’t be wise; it could easily injure themselves.
"Heng Er, do you remember the way we came?" Wang Zhao wanted to distract the two men so that Wang Heng could escape.
"Godfather, I’m not leaving! I want to stay with you!"
What are you thinking at a time like this? You still have your brother!
Since meeting Yu Suihuan, Wang Zhao had developed a strong desire to protect her. For the past few days, he had secretly trained in martial arts.
Though he wasn’t exceptionally skilled, he believed he could handle two brutes without much trouble. However, if Wang Heng joined him, he would become a liability instead of an asset.
"Heng Er, listen! It’s fine! I’ll draw their attention; you look for a chance to run!"
Wang Zhao didn’t wait for Wang Heng’s response. He pulled out a dagger and aimed it at the two men who were grappling with each other.
Heizi and Wang Mang were taken aback; despite his lean frame, Wang Zhao had the courage to challenge them.
The standoff between the two families transformed into a three-way deadlock with the addition of Wang Zhao. The three of them spread out, each occupying a corner of the tomb chamber, giving Wang Heng a chance to escape.
Wang Zhao's expression was serious as he signaled to Wang Heng with a glance, urging him to leave quickly. Understanding the cue, Wang Heng was about to dash out of the tomb when he was suddenly grabbed by the collar by Wang Mang.
In an instant, Wang Heng felt his heart race as his feet left the ground. Wang Mang lifted him like a chick and hurled him back into the tomb, where he crashed onto the coffin.
With a thud, blood spurted from his mouth, filling his senses with a metallic taste. Seeing Wang Heng injured, Wang Zhao wasted no time and tightened his grip on his dagger to attack Wang Mang.
Wang Mang dodged swiftly and threw a punch, thinking he could evade Wang Zhao's dagger. However, he underestimated Wang Zhao's intentions; it was merely a feint. With incredible agility, Wang Zhao executed a backflip, landing firmly and expertly severing Wang Mang's Achilles tendon.
A deafening scream echoed in the confined space of the tomb, sounding particularly tragic. Wang Zhao did not hesitate; he swiftly turned and approached Wang Mang from behind. Taking advantage of Wang Mang's moment of vulnerability as he bent down, Wang Zhao struck decisively, cleanly slicing through Wang Mang's throat.
