Yu Songyu braced herself and endured a lengthy lecture.
"Grandma, I’m really tired. I want to rest; I’m sleepy! Can we continue this tomorrow?"
To make her act more convincing, she even pretended to yawn.
Sigh, what can you do with this girl?
"Yeah, let her sleep. That yawn was so exaggerated it almost dislocated her jaw!"
Yu Songyu stuck her tongue out at the two grandmothers, then turned to Wang Zhaoran and smiled before darting back to her little courtyard.
Noticing that it was still early, she figured Xiao Jie hadn’t finished shopping yet. So she decided to call her after returning to the modern world.
"Xiao Jie, did you buy the clothes?"
"Yes, I did! But I just bought some random stuff at the supermarket—some toiletries, a few sets of underwear, and two sets of loungewear."
These loungewear sets are one-size-fits-all, so anyone can wear them regardless of their size. No need to worry about measurements.
"Alright then, let’s meet at the home goods plaza!"
At the home goods plaza, they bought a bed, pillows, and blankets. To make living more convenient, they also purchased an antique-style screen.
After settling Zheng Chengxiu in and helping him change into his loungewear, Yu Songyu finally noticed that his outfit was actually Super Mario-themed.
Fortunately, Zheng Chengxiu only had external injuries, so it wasn’t too serious; he should be fine after a few days of rest.
The Super Mario loungewear paired with his bruised face and a look of helplessness, along with those tattered glasses, created an oddly humorous scene.
Zheng Chengxiu had been through a lot these past few days and quickly fell into a deep sleep.
Once he was sound asleep, Yu Songyu shared everything about his situation with Xiao Jie.
"Sigh, he’s such a pitiful person! Don’t worry; your friend is my friend too. From now on, we’re good sisters!"
Yu Songyu couldn’t help but laugh at her serious demeanor. She wasn’t sure if bringing Zheng Chengxiu into her space was the right decision, but she couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.
"Okay then, you can explain everything to him when he wakes up. I’m tired and going back to sleep!"
After saying that, Yu Songyu returned to her small courtyard. It had been a long day filled with events, but thankfully she had Spirit Spring Water to replenish her energy whenever needed.
Just as she settled down on the warm kang bed, she heard some rustling sounds nearby.
"My dear master, my most beloved and beautiful master!" Lai Fu wagged its tail and tiptoed into the room.
"Speak!" Yu Songyu replied irritably. After all, Lai Fu was raised by her, but recently it had become overly affectionate with Jie, practically acting like a sycophant.
"My dear master, how long has it been since you last sent me into the space?"
"Ha, what would you do in the space? Are you short on dog food or did you not get enough chicken legs?" Yu Songyu turned away from it, deliberately ignoring its antics.
"My dear master, do you know how much I love you? Do you know how loyal I am to you? My love for you is as vast as countless chicken legs. My loyalty is such that even if others offered me endless chicken legs, I would never trade it for anything."
Yu Songyu felt a headache coming on from its incessant chatter. So in its eyes, she was on par with chicken legs, huh?
"So what do you really want to say?" Yu Songyu sat up and looked at it.
"Master, can you please put me into the space? I want to see my Sister Xi Shi! Love you!"
"Get lost!"
With a flick of her hand, Yu Songyu tossed Lai Fu into the space.
This dog was full of tricks; where did it learn all this? So it was only thinking about its Sister Xi Shi, huh? That meant she and Jie were just tools in its eyes.
