Li Xiuzhen's forehead was bleeding, and Yu Songyu wished she could teleport her to Wei Hospital immediately. But they couldn't carry her; Li Zhiqing was sturdier than many Male Educated Youths!
A Female Educated Youth muttered softly that it wasn't that she didn't want to help, but she simply lacked the strength. Could a living person really die from holding in their urine?
Yu Songyu, anxious, turned around and kicked the door of the On Duty room. With a loud crash, the entire door came off its hinges, leaving everyone stunned and speechless.
"What are you all waiting for? A few Male Educated Youths, come lift her!"
Yu Songyu had considered carrying Li Xiuzhen down the mountain herself. After all, with daily consumption of Spirit Spring Water, her strength was quite remarkable. However, if she did that without explaining herself, it would expose her abilities and make her seem like an anomaly.
As the saying goes, it's easy to go up the mountain but hard to come down, especially when they were carrying a robust adult. Since spring had just begun, the ground was still quite muddy.
One Male Educated Youth slipped and fell to the ground, nearly dropping the door panel. Fortunately, Yu Songyu was quick enough to catch it; otherwise, several people would have been in trouble.
"What happened? How did someone get hit by wood?"
As Li Xiuzhen was pushed into the emergency room, Yu Songyu asked those who were guarding outside with her.
"When we were measuring the height of the wooden pile, Li Li somehow climbed up. We all advised her to come down quickly because it was dangerous up there, but she wouldn’t listen. Just then, Li Xiuzhen happened to walk by, and a piece of wood fell from above."
A Female Educated Youth recalled as she recounted the story to Yu Songyu.
After the wood fell, where was Li Li?
Yu Songyu furrowed her brow; this didn't seem like a simple accident. The wood had been carefully arranged; it wouldn't just fall easily.
"Her?"
Several Zhiqing exchanged glances. When they saw the wood fall on someone, they rushed over to help without paying attention to Li Li. She must still have been on top of that wooden pile!
As everyone realized this, a chill ran down their spines. Could this possibly be a deliberate act?
"Ha, what a coincidence!" Yu Songyu sneered, then turned to face the crowd. "I'll go back to get the money. Please keep an eye on things for me."
The others nodded in agreement, and Yu Songyu stepped outside to find a secluded spot before teleporting to Lin Farm.
"Do you think they'll suspect me?" Li Li asked nervously, gripping Zhang Cuiying's hand tightly.
"Oh, come on. We've already done it. Just relax! The more anxious you are, the easier it is for others to see something's off!"
"What should we do now?"
"Wait a second. I should say, what are you going to do? This has nothing to do with me!" Zhang Cuiying quickly distanced herself from the situation. After what happened with Wang Xiuli, she had learned her lesson.
"Right, right! So what should I do now?"
"Just act like nothing happened. If anyone asks, just insist you don't know anything. The pile of wood is so big; who can say for sure that it was you who pushed it down?"
"But I was right there on top! I'm really scared!"
Li Li regretted her actions after the fact. Li Xiuzhen always provoked her with words, but it wasn't worth killing someone over, right? She had only pushed the wood down in a moment of anger when she saw Li Xiuzhen approaching, intending just to scare her.
But who would have thought that this fool wouldn't dodge? What if she accidentally got crushed? Wouldn't that make her a murderer?
"Now you're scared? You shouldn't have done it in the first place!" Zhang Cuiying replied coldly, clearly annoyed.
"At this point, being scared doesn't help. Hurry up and get down the mountain! If you keep stalling, it'll be dark soon!"
