Humming a little tune, Yu Songyu brought some snacks to visit the two Old Ladies.
"Sister!"
As soon as Yu Songyu entered, she saw Xiao He running towards her. The little one had grown taller in just a few days.
"Good girl, did you miss your sister?"
Yu Songyu smiled and pulled a lollipop from her pocket, handing it to Xiao He. She didn’t dare give her too many at once; after all, too much candy wasn’t good for children.
"Oh, who is this esteemed guest? You even remembered to come see us two Old Ladies! Where’s Yang Qinghe?"
The grandmother teased as she looked at Yu Songyu.
"He’s busy; I’m hungry!"
Yu Songyu entered the room, dropped her things on the table, and collapsed into a chair.
"This child, standing and sitting all awkwardly—doesn’t she look like a proper girl at all? If you’re tired, go rest in the back; I’ve already tidied it up for you. When it’s time for dinner, I’ll call Zhao Lian Zhi!"
The grandmother, coming from a noble family, couldn’t stand seeing Yu Songyu so lazy.
"Oh!"
Instead of resting, Yu Songyu went to the storeroom and collected all the antique calligraphy and paintings into her space.
For dinner, they made all of Yu Songyu’s favorite dishes; the two Old Ladies truly spoiled her.
"By the way, the house is finished. When will you come over to take a look?"
After finishing her meal, Yu Songyu sat in her chair, rubbing her belly as she realized she had eaten too much again.
"I was just discussing with your grandmother; the house is done but we haven’t warmed it up for you yet!"
"Why don’t you move in for a while? When the weather gets warmer, we can also take some time to plant on our Reserved Land!"
Yu Songyu had a mischievous smile; she didn’t really need them to farm but mainly wanted the Two Grandmothers to get some exercise.
"Oh my, that sounds great! Old Sister, I’ve never farmed before!"
The grandmother had never lifted a finger in her youth. Hearing about farming instantly excited her; she looked as happy as a child. Yu Songyu could even sense a youthful spirit emanating from her.
"Alright then, let’s move in! We have enough space anyway, and we can also take care of Xiao Yu!"
The large courtyard in town is certainly nice, but it always feels a bit lacking in warmth. Without the daily chatter between neighbors, it seems to miss some of its charm.
Alright, it's settled then. In a couple of days when I’m off work, I’ll come by with the Ox Cart to pick you all up. No need to tidy up the bedding; it’s a hassle to carry things back and forth. I’ll just get some new ones when I have the time.
This Era is indeed inconvenient; we can only rely on the Ox Cart for transportation, and everything on it is visible to others.
Well, I've eaten and drunk my fill, so I'm off! I still have work to do!
After chatting a bit longer with the Two Grandmothers, Yu Songyu felt she had lingered long enough.
Zhao Lian Zhi, grab two lunch boxes and pack some of that braised meat and vegetables for Yang Qinghe!
Yu Songyu quickly gathered her food and teleported back to her little courtyard. She let out a few dogs to guard the night and was ready to head inside for some rest.
Just as she bent down to spread out her bedding, someone hugged her from behind.
You’re here!
Mmm, don’t move; let me hold you for a moment!
Yu Songyu obediently let him embrace her, savoring the man’s warmth and scent.
Have you eaten? The Two Grandmothers brought you some food; you should eat a little!
Okay!
Yang Qinghe was reluctant to let go, but Yu Songyu gently pushed him away.
Let’s eat first; I have something else for you too!
Hmm? Are you giving yourself to me?
You! No, that’s not it! Just wash your hands and eat first; I’ll go get it for you!
Watching her busily moving around in front of him made Yang Qinghe feel incredibly happy.
