After some discussion, everyone felt there was some truth to this statement; after all, no man could escape such matters.
"You have a point there, but you’re making it hard for everyone to imagine that... scene!"
What scene? Ye Chen's mind momentarily froze, but he quickly realized what the group was talking about.
He imagined Pei Guanjing gasping for breath, the veins in his neck bulging, his body leaning slightly against the wall. A rosy hue spread across his jade-like skin, his gaze unfocused and dreamy as he softly murmured his name, "Ye Chen, come here."
No way, that image was too intense! Ye Chen shook his head vigorously, trying to dispel the thought.
Just then, he heard the men starting to discuss a new topic.
"Do you guys know Kun Ze? Especially those Kun Ze with masculine bodies—they're absolutely stunning! Graceful figures and unparalleled looks, they rival even the finest of women. If it weren't so hard for us common folk to find a masculine Kun Ze, I would definitely marry one just to see how they compare to the ladies!"
Laughter erupted among them, their words dripping with lewd implications. Ye Chen in the corner wrapped himself tighter in his blanket.
It seemed someone noticed Ye Chen's silence. Suddenly, the person next to him yanked away his blanket. "Hey, new guy! You're Ye Chen, right? I heard you were specifically requested by Pei Guanjing. Why don’t you say a few words?"
Feeling the piercing gazes upon him, Ye Chen bit his lip and then put on his usual friendly expression as he sat up. "Uh, well... discussing Doctor Pei isn’t really appropriate. After all, he’s our superior. If he finds out about this, we might get into trouble!"
"How could that be? Ever since he came to our Military Camp a month ago, we’ve been talking about him since the first night. You say he's highly skilled in medicine but doesn’t take apprentices; that really piques our curiosity."
"Most of the people who come to the Military Camp as Military Doctors are not secretive; they tend to pass on their medical skills to apprentices, helping others. You mentioned he has been here for a month and only went out a few days before wanting you as an apprentice. What's going on? Ye Chen forced a smile, yawning slightly. "How could that be? I'm just a child from a small family in the capital, who joined the army because I couldn't make it elsewhere. How could I compare to Doctor Pei? He is the adopted son of the powerful Regent. If I could get close to him, I would be more than happy, but... the truth is, I really don't know him well at all!"

As soon as Ye Chen finished speaking, the expressions of those around him changed dramatically. The previously jovial crowd fell silent, and it wasn't until someone cautiously asked Ye Chen a question that the tension broke.

"Where did you hear this news... Ye Chen?" Liu Ben lowered his voice and moved closer to Ye Chen, staring intently at him.
Looking around at the expectant faces, Ye Chen's dark eyes flickered slightly as he tentatively smiled and said, "It was Lou Yu; he's also from the capital. He told me."
Upon hearing Lou Yu's name, everyone exchanged glances and began sizing each other up. Lou Yu's identity was no longer a secret; many knew who he was. Since it was something he had confirmed, then Pei Guanjing's identity must indeed be true.
