This is truly exhilarating, isn't it? Just watching makes me want to join Truth School and join in the fun.
The excitement is palpable; the production team must have invested a fortune for such effects. The final battle was impressive enough, but the post-war celebration featured so many special effects that it felt like the budget wasn't just burning—it was exploding.
This is what true revelry looks like! After the decisive battle, this is how music should play and how people should dance!
As Xu Lie returned to campus while browsing through the Danmaku, he was greeted by a scene of celebration that brought a smile to his face.
"Principal! Xu Lie!"
Students rushed towards him, waving their arms in excitement to express their enthusiasm. Xu Lie didn’t hold back; he smiled and raised his hand, high-fiving the students, which only made them more exhilarated.
Caught up in the moment, they disregarded all formalities, surrounding Xu Lie and tossing him into the air.
As he soared up and down, Xu Lie felt particularly elated. Looking around, it was clear that at least in this Logistics Base, there were no issues with morale.
All they needed was a little more time to produce a wealth of magical items to assist Xu Lie in tackling the remaining challenging Script Worlds.
The celebration at Truth School lasted for over half a day, and it wasn’t until night fell again that the students began to tire and head back to their dorms for some rest.
It was inevitable. Early the next morning, before dawn even broke, they had to wake up to eat and prepare for ambushes. Even those First-Year Students without ambush missions woke up early and gathered in the cafeteria.
What followed was a series of intense battles. Although the Upperclassmen swiftly eliminated all the Evil Mages in the east within moments, they still faced exhaustion from magic consumption, physical fatigue, and a whirlwind of complex emotions.
After such a victorious celebration at Truth School, it would be unnatural for the students not to feel tired.
As the students returned to rest, the teachers also took a breather. They held highball glasses filled with fine wine, chatting leisurely while tidying up after the festivities.
There was no denying that while celebrating was joyful, it also left behind quite a bit of mess. Fortunately, the Magic Teachers only needed to drink and chat; they could delegate the cleanup to Puppets, Water Sprites, and Leaf Sprites.
After all, as magicians, they were adept at commanding their subordinates. Xu Lie also called over Reiner, who was the first magician he encountered since arriving in the Burning Fire realm.
It was indeed a reliable method to trust a local person like Xu Lie. Reiner was somewhat curious; after the victory in the great battle, why wasn’t Xu Lie celebrating with the teachers? Instead, he seemed to be preparing for a private conversation.
Xu Lie took out a large stack of research project papers. “This is what the teachers at Truth School will be focusing on for the next five years,” he said.
Reiner’s expression changed in surprise as he quickly realized that Xu Lie was planning to leave. Otherwise, why would he hand over this principal privilege to him?
“Xu Lie, wait!” Reiner exclaimed, but was stopped by Xu Lie raising his hand. “Hey, don’t misunderstand. After this battle, I’ve had some new insights and I’m planning to go into seclusion for a while.”
Reiner let out a sigh of relief; it was just seclusion after all! It was common for a mage to retreat for years to study a certain mystery or delve into a specific type of magic without stepping outside.
Feeling reassured, he accepted the stack of papers. “While I’m away, I’ll need you to handle these.”
“Of course, Vice Principal Reiner,” he replied.
“Phew, I’m back.” The gentle sea breeze caressed him, bringing with it a sense of nostalgia. Xu Lie stretched lazily; although this performance hadn’t worn him out too much—he had managed to slack off almost every day—there was still an underlying fatigue akin to that of working. After all, for years he had been reviewing countless applications from Magic Teachers and racking his brain to assign them research tasks. The working hours weren’t too long, but doing this daily made him feel like a worker finally clocking out.
Under the guise of seclusion, his temporary absence wouldn’t raise any eyebrows at Truth School in the Burning Fire world. He also took Anthony and Charles with him under the pretense of being guardians and returned to the company. As usual, he let them rest first while he checked his payment details.
“Actor: Xu Lie B+ difficulty script Burning Fire Basic Payment: 6500 points; Script Rating: 9.7, Extra Payment: 970 points; Personal Rating: 9.8, Extra Payment: 980 points; Quarterly Total Views First Place, Extra Payment: 10,000 points; Total Script Payment: 18450 points; Total Points: 21450 points.”
Season champion? Not bad! Xu Lie felt surprisingly satisfied. Initially, he just wanted to create a Logistics Base but hadn’t expected such unexpected gains from securing the season championship!
After reviewing the earnings from the last Script World, the company sent him several new scripts to choose from. Xu Lie directly selected the highest difficulty A+ script titled “Disaster Beast Apocalypse.” In simple terms, it was an apocalyptic-themed Script World where natural disasters reigned and various magical beasts brought calamities. People struggled for survival against these beasts.
Choosing this script was perfect for mages like him who needed to study materials; perhaps the disaster beasts in this world would serve as excellent research subjects. Moreover, with his newly established Burning Fire Logistics Base, an apocalyptic-themed film and television drama would suit him even better. Without a doubt, just by gathering some food from a few kingdoms within the Burning Fire world and taking it into “Disaster Beast Apocalypse,” he could easily establish a powerful force.
After confirming his next Script World destination, Xu Lie didn’t rush to spend his points on anything from the company. Instead, he chose to take a vacation in the world of “Not Allowed to Fall in Love.” Thinking about it carefully, it had been three years since he last saw Lu Youyou. It was time to go back and check on her.
Xu Lie felt fortunate that before entering the Burning Fire world for performances, he had adjusted the flow of time with the company. Currently, only about three months had passed for Lu Youyou.
Confident in himself, Xu Lie believed that if he continued on this path, he would eventually invite Lu Youyou to join the company as well—free from mundane limitations of lifespan.
“Eat! Eat! All you do is eat all day! Aren't you afraid of turning into a pig? You just finished eating and don’t even bother moving around; sitting on the sofa playing with your phone and munching on snacks! Hurry up and take out the trash!” Lu Ma shouted at her daughter Lu Youyou who was sprawled on the sofa with chips in one hand and her phone in the other.
This daughter of hers had no sense of decorum; instead of using her hands to grab chips properly while looking at her phone, she chose to tear open a small hole in the bag and dump them into her mouth. Lu Ma couldn’t help but feel helpless as she thought back to Xu Lie—months ago when her younger daughter started college and she saw them kissing outside the elevator while taking out the trash.
Thinking about that made Lu Ma feel slightly better; at least her not-so-ladylike daughter had someone interested in her so she didn’t have to worry too much.
Hearing her mother’s angry voice made Lu Youyou reluctantly roll over and mumble, “I know! I know! I’ll go now.” Deep down she grumbled about how her boyfriend had gone off to work instead of being home; if only he were there, she wouldn’t have had to take out the trash herself.
Reluctant to put down her chips, Lu Youyou stuffed her phone into her pocket, grabbed the trash bag, shuffled through the living room in her slippers without even bothering to change shoes while yawning and opening the door.
Huh? Why was there a man standing at their door holding two boxes of gifts? Did her sister buy something again? Had she even opted for luxury delivery service?
Instinctively looking up from his torso upwards, she gradually recognized that familiar face she had been longing for—wasn’t that Xu Lie?!
With a smile playing on his lips, Xu Lie could see everything happening inside clearly thanks to his current mental strength. He could have knocked early on and stopped Lu Ma from forcing his girlfriend to take out the trash but instead wanted to see how silly she looked at home.
The sight before him showed Lu Youyou’s hair disheveled from lying on the sofa without any styling; her unmade face still looked charmingly youthful without showing any signs of ugliness—rather it radiated an innocent beauty typical of an eighteen-year-old girl.
Her wrinkled home T-shirt paired with baggy beach shorts and colorful slippers while holding a black trash bag painted quite an unrefined picture yet somehow highlighted Lu Youyou's striking looks and long legs even more.
For Lu Youyou it had only been three months but for Xu Lie it felt like three years had passed. Overwhelmed by emotions momentarily, Xu Lie opened his mouth: “It’s been a long time…”
“Bang!” Before he could finish his sentence, the door slammed shut with such force that even the threshold trembled slightly.
Lu Youyou’s face turned bright red as she dashed back into her room—“I need to change! I need to get ready!” How could she let Xu Lie see her looking so messy?
“What’s wrong with you?” Lu Ma was taken aback by her daughter’s sudden behavior—first slamming the door then running back inside with a trash bag? What kind of madness was this?
Ignoring her mother completely now consumed by embarrassment and urgency filled with pleading tones she called out: “Mom! Don’t open that door! Please don’t!”
Lu Ma blinked as if beginning to understand—was it one of her daughter’s friends visiting? A high school classmate or university friend? Ha! She thought so; no wonder she looked so messy—it served her right!
But still…how could she leave guests waiting outside? She’d have to talk with her later about manners!
Shaking her head disapprovingly at her daughter’s antics Lu Ma ignored her pleas and went straight for the door only to be startled herself upon opening it.
It wasn’t just any classmate—it was son-in-law visiting!
In an instant there was another round of hurried footsteps as Lu Youyou rushed back wearing a little skirt without time even scolding her mother for acting rashly before joyfully leaping towards Xu Lie: “Xu Lie! Welcome back!”
Xu Lie held both gift boxes firmly enough to catch her effortlessly as he replied: “Yes, I’m back.”
