It was impossible for all the students to return indoors. The Water Magic majors, Weather Magic majors, and even those tending to the magical plant cultivation pools would not be lacking in numbers.
This group of Evil Mages had a way to interfere with Prophecy Magic, perhaps through some Magic Tool or magic itself? Once Reiner received a certain answer, he planned to go out and find two old friends.
"Wait," the Prophet Mage called out to Reiner. "Help me look for the Ordinary Crystal Ball from the past."
The Evil Mages had interfered with Prophecy Magic, but that was merely our speculation. It would be wise to gather more comparisons. The magical crystal ball I exchanged for points from Xu Lie could amplify Prophecy Magic, while the Ordinary Crystal Ball wouldn’t. If the predictions made by the Ordinary Crystal Ball turned out to be worse than those from the magical crystal ball, it would confirm our suspicions about the Evil Mages interfering with prophecies.
Such a simple comparison made the audience gasp in amazement.
"Wow, magic is so convenient! I thought only Xu Lie had it figured out, but it turns out there are many talented individuals at Truth School who can see through things."
"What are these Evil Mages even playing at? They’ve already interfered with prophecies and now they might lose terribly."
"Predicting what’s to come is just too underhanded."
Reiner thought about it and agreed. He started rummaging through boxes alongside the Prophet Mage, but after opening three cardboard boxes, they still couldn’t find it. This left the Prophet Mage feeling a bit awkward until they finally discovered the Ordinary Crystal Ball tucked away at the bottom of a storage locker nearby.
It was dusty and looked unappealing, but in reality, it didn’t affect its function. The Prophet Mage didn’t dwell on the dust issue; instead, he took out a special potion he had exchanged from Xu Lie and drank it before explaining while holding up the Ordinary Crystal Ball: "This potion can temporarily amplify my Prophecy Magic range and allow me to predict events until the end of the month."
He then cast his magic and quietly observed the abstract images on the dusty crystal ball: indeed, this time there was no rain, and students were going about their normal activities. Now it was 100% confirmed that the Evil Mages had interfered with Prophecy Magic.
Taking advantage of the potion's effect, the Prophet Mage steeled himself and switched back to the magical crystal ball for a series of rapid castings: "To interfere with Prophecy Magic, they might be using a Magic Tool or perhaps one of the Evil Mages possesses prophetic abilities."
Regardless of how it was done, I need to add some extra measures! I must prevent them from predicting our responses! I refuse to believe that if you interfere and prevent me from seeing, I can’t muddy things up even further so you can’t see either!
With solid evidence in hand, Reiner stepped outside without wanting to disturb his friend’s casting any longer and turned to find Black Mist and Inquilinar. Meanwhile, Xu Lie was also busy asking Charles about the current combat capabilities of third-year students compared to second-years. If they were barely holding up, he would take them out for some practice.
Charles reassured Xu Lie by indicating that he would teach him the techniques for stacking magic.
On the surface, Truth School appeared to be just as it always was, seemingly oblivious and without any defenses in place. Even when the large Feizhou returned with the third batch of students, everything proceeded as usual, with classes divided for a month in Meditation Class.
However, the first two batches of students were indeed discussing the recent increase in combat classes. The third-year students were somewhat indifferent; an increase in combat classes could be seen as part of their educational program. But the second-year students were more skeptical. Last year, when the third-years were in their second year, combat classes had not been so frequent. Why was it that now, as they entered their second year, combat classes were being scheduled in such abundance?
Fortunately, Charles managed to quell this wave of discussion. His excuse was simple: Principal Xu Liexian had recently expressed an intention to take the first two batches of students on an adventure. For safety reasons and to enhance the upperclassmen's personal experiences during their outings, the school had adjusted the schedule, resulting in more combat classes being arranged.
This news made the newly enrolled First-Year Students envious; who wouldn’t want to experience magical adventures firsthand instead of just reading about them in dusty tomes? Seeing the longing in the eyes of their underclassmen, the upperclassmen felt a secret satisfaction and ceased their discussions, turning instead to enthusiastically engage in their combat classes.
