"If I were the king, I would do the same. This is mysterious magic, it is extraordinary! If given the chance for immortality, as a king, I would spare no effort to seize it."
Having calmed the mages from Feizhou, Xu Lie used Amplification Magic to convey their intentions: "Please do not panic, and do not take advantage of the chaos."
"We will be monitoring from above. Anyone who attempts to loot during this disturbance will be struck down by lightning."
"Now, allow me to introduce ourselves. We come from the Truth Magic School as Enrollment Teachers. We are here to recruit a group of intelligent students aged ten to fifteen to learn magic with us."
"As a gesture of goodwill, we will also present the Jinri Kingdom with a batch of magical plants that yield ten thousand jin per mu."
"Seven days from now, we will land outside the city to conduct tests and enroll students."
With the aid of Amplification Magic, Xu Lie's words spread throughout the city, causing some gangsters to hurriedly retreat home in fear. They had initially thought to take advantage of the chaos once the thunder subsided, but now they dared not act with the mages watching from above.
Inside the Royal City Palace, the king and his ministers heard Xu Lie's words and each had their own thoughts. A calm and wise minister advised, "Your Majesty, we are no match for these mages; we should cooperate with them. Moreover, their offer of magical plants yielding ten thousand jin per mu is not something we can afford to miss!"
A more stubborn and hot-tempered noble retorted, "Preposterous! They show such disdain for our Jinri Kingdom; why should we cooperate? At the very least, they should offer magical treasures as an apology!"
The calm individual supported the former argument while the shortsighted and greedy one backed the latter. Each had valid points; after all, the Jinri Kingdom had no means to confront these high-and-mighty mages and could only foolishly endure their wrath.
The mages' actions were indeed offensive; greeting them with thunder just seconds after their arrival would infuriate anyone.
Before long, a heated argument broke out. On one side was the suggestion that refusing cooperation might lead to further punishment by lightning; on the other was a demand for magical gifts as a prerequisite for cooperation.
Neither side could persuade the other until a deafening clap of thunder struck once more.
This time, it directly hit the entrance of the palace, delivering a clear warning without words!
The greedy nobles shrank back in fear, abandoning their previous defiant postures.
Magic—this was undoubtedly some form of remote surveillance magic employed by those wicked mages! They had all heard tales of witches who could use mirrors to see distant scenes.
Damn it, these wizards actually dare to spy on them!
Cursing the nobles in his heart, he maintained a defiant facade: "Your Majesty! Please issue the order to cooperate with the Truth School quickly!"
He fully embodied the phrase "from arrogance to humility."
The nobles, feeling frustrated, had already made up their minds. Once they returned home, they would gather all their children and send them to learn magic! Only by mastering magic could they rise above others. They wouldn't have to endure such humiliation, their lives and deaths in the hands of others.
Perhaps they could even take it a step further. With power in hand, why shouldn't the throne belong to their family?
The king sighed, waved his hand, and ordered someone to bring paper and ink, drafting the decree on the spot.
