What if the Alien Life launched a massive attack? It wouldn't matter where one went; the threat of Alien Life would loom everywhere. It was better to stay here, at least to gather the latest intelligence to assess the situation. Anthony sighed, "Another storm brewing."
While Anthony was deceiving the protagonist, Charles, also a Bionic Person, was caught in a whirlwind of his own. Early that morning, he received a joint call from several Arms Tycoons, instructing him to control all members of Old John's faction within the metropolitan area. They even sent Charles several lists. Old John was the elderly Arms Tycoon and a traitor to the Military-Industrial Complex. The other Arms Tycoons were merely substitutes; only Old John, due to his age, was reluctant to pass power to the next generation, clinging tightly to it. He also yearned for immortality from Alien Life, which is why he cooperated with the higher-ups of the Great Federation in their efforts to Extinguish Fire.
The outcome was predictable: Old John was ousted from the group by all remaining Arms Tycoons and faced comprehensive retaliation. The most outrageous part wasn't this, but rather what the Arms Tycoons told Charles: to make as much noise as possible and let Alien Life conduct more research. At first, Charles thought this was due to last night's Mi Dun capture, which had affected a few of the Arms Tycoons' brain functions. Seriously? Alien Life intended to eliminate the Arms Company, and yet you still wanted to cater to them?
After some reflection, Charles realized that it wasn't just the scientists of the Great Federation who felt powerless against Alien Life; the Arms Tycoons were also aware that they were no match for them. Rather than facing annihilation while resisting Alien Life, it was better to stir up some commotion. After all, wasn’t Alien Life researching collective humanity? So they decided to create collective incidents to provide value for Alien Life, hoping that in light of their remaining worth, Alien Life would refrain from total extermination.
Thus, they incited their countless employees to collectively petition for autonomy and separation from the Great Federation. Wasn’t that enough noise? Wouldn’t it be sufficient for Alien Life's research? After coming to this realization, Charles couldn't help but laugh and cry at the absurdity of it all; he didn't even know what emotions his intellectual plugin should express. His colleague Anthony had once privately complained about how the higher-ups of the Great Federation had crossed moral boundaries and that prolonged exposure could taint their intellectual plugins.
Charles felt a twinge of relief back then, at least at Arms Company, there weren't as many meetings and responsibilities weren't scrutinized so closely.
Well, that was a different story now; the boomerang had come back to hit him squarely on the head. In just a few moments, Charles experienced a subtle sensation that his intellectual plugins were about to malfunction.
After ending the communication, Charles directly reached out to Xu Lie to report this whole situation.
Xu Lie was quite intrigued when he received Charles's call. With the company's method of crafting Character Backgrounds, they would never discover the connection between us.
Yet, he candidly informed you that Arms Company was in quite a hurry. Since there was no stable channel to reach me, they decided to make a big fuss about it. They aimed to create as much commotion as possible while informing all their subordinates. The goal was to ensure I could see and hear everything, hoping to spare them from dire consequences.
They really trust my surveillance methods, don't they? How amusing. After having built up such an impression for so long, it was time for me to make my appearance again. I would take matters into my own hands.
