Shui Laohu's premonition was correct; all the Sailors were not landlubbers. Even if they had been in the past, after Chen Tao's training, they had all become adept in the water. As soon as they activated the Cang Hai Jue, each of them could breathe underwater, moving with agility that surpassed even that of fish.
The Sailors splashed into the water, and within three seconds, they gathered beneath a dozen pirate ships like fish drawn to bait. Following Wu Qianchuan's strategies for engaging the enemy, several Sailors were designated to carry Hook Ropes.
As a Sailor emerged from the water, he excitedly unwound coils of hemp rope from his arm and waved it above his head, creating a scene reminiscent of a fiery wheel on the sea. Surrounded by well-trained comrades who worked in perfect harmony, they quickly dove underwater to avoid being hit by their own Hook Ropes.
After spinning the Hook Rope a few times to build momentum, he launched it into the air. The sound of thuds echoed as multiple Hook Ropes landed on the pirate ships from all directions. A Hook Soldier gave a slight tug to confirm that his hook was secure and shouted, "Everyone, climb up!"
Many Sailors immediately grabbed the ropes and climbed aboard with little effort. The pirate ships were small and shallow-drafted; after all, the Sailors usually trained on their own Giant Ship. Climbing onto such small vessels was easy for them.
This scene delighted the audience.
"Impressive! What a spectacle! With over ten pirate ships surrounded by Hook Ropes, this long shot by the director is truly magnificent."
"These extras are really dedicated! Jumping from such a high Giant Ship into the sea and then swimming over to climb onto pirate ships—so professional!"
"You can't see any special effects; it must all be real action from the extras. This effect is unbeatable—what a budget burn!"
As the Sailors swarmed like ants, Shui Laohu, who still retained some rationality, grew anxious and shouted, "Damn it! Get out there and take down those soldiers!" He knew that if they didn't act soon, it would be too late. Once the Sailors surrounded them outside the cabin, there would be no need for them to risk entering. The Sailors could simply guard the cabin door tightly and suffocate all the pirates inside.
If they were ruthless enough to pour in oil and set it ablaze, there would be no need for a pirate funeral; they'd simply scatter their ashes across the sea. The pirates were already terrified by the booming explosions; no matter how much Shui Laohu shouted, not a single one was willing to venture out to fight.
Even some pirates, terrified to the point of wetting themselves, urged Shui Laohu, "Boss! We can't go out, we can't go out! We'll be struck dead by Thunder God!"
"That's right, Boss! If we go out, it's a one-way ticket to death! We really will be hit by lightning! There won't be anything left of us!"
In the simple worldview of the pirates, they believed that their many wrongdoings had brought upon them this punishment of thunder and lightning. They were firmly convinced that being struck by lightning would leave them utterly destroyed; even if they ended up in the underworld after death, they would face severe consequences. No one wanted to risk their lives outside.
Desperate, Shui Laohu grabbed a knife and directly struck down the fearful pirate. "To hell with the heavens, to hell with Thunder God! Anyone who doesn't follow me will be cut down!"
There was still a chance to survive if they fought desperately; but if they all cowered like this, none would make it out alive!
The already cramped cabin was suddenly filled with the metallic scent of blood. Many pirates trembled in fear but refused to move, thinking their boss had gone mad. How could Shui Laohu dare to curse both heaven and Thunder God? Didn't he fear being struck at any moment?
"May the Gods and Buddhas protect us," they thought. They hadn’t cursed Shang Cang; if there was to be a strike, let it only fall on the boss. If the boss was hit, then surely they would be spared.
Shui Laohu was so furious that he felt like his head might explode. He considered killing another person to force them out to fight when suddenly, voices from outside began urging them to surrender.
