The command center of the Special Investigation Team was bustling with activity, with members frequently rushing in and out.
In front of them, a row of computers was constantly tracking Xu Lie. As soon as Xu Lie used his phone or logged into any registered websites, his location would be pinpointed within a short time. However, they had yet to achieve any results; it seemed that Xu Lie had turned off his phone and had not logged into any sites or apps.
Zhang Yutao recognized the trouble in this situation. This high school student was not only skilled in explosives but also possessed a certain level of counter-surveillance awareness. What made things even more challenging was Xu Lie's tenacity.
Zhang Yutao understood that in modern society, young people were heavily reliant on their phones; it was almost impossible for them to go for hours without touching their devices without feeling uncomfortable. Suddenly, his phone rang. Zhang Yutao quickly answered; on the other end was a team that had already entered Xu Lie's home for a search: "Team Leader, we've spent two hours conducting a preliminary search of the suspect's residence. There are no signs of a hasty departure; in fact, before we arrived, the power had been cut off and some household appliance plugs were also unplugged."
"The number of clothes in the wardrobe doesn't match the hangers," the team leader continued. "We initially suspect that the suspect may have left with some clothing."
Despite the lack of findings from the search team, Zhang Yutao appeared unusually pleased. "I understand. Keep searching! By the way! I remember that the perpetrator left a message at Gene Building—was there anything left at the suspect's residence?"
The squad leader sounded somewhat regretful: "We haven't found anything yet. We will conduct a more detailed search and I will report back immediately if we discover anything."
"Got it." After hanging up, Zhang Yutao felt a slight sense of relief: it wasn't that their surveillance personnel had been discovered by Xu Lie after all.
