Uncle naturally believed him. Lu Yong had just heard about Lin Feng; previously, he was unaware of the situation, as only a few knew about it at the time. Now, it was common knowledge.
Taking a deep breath, Lin Feng began recounting the painful memories to Lu Yong. He detailed how he had fallen into a carefully crafted trap step by step. The insidious tactics and the malice hidden behind them made Lu Yong increasingly furious as he listened, to the point where he gripped the armrests of his chair tightly. With a roar of anger, he even broke off the sturdy wooden armrest!
Seeing this, Lin Feng quickly spoke up to comfort him, "Uncle, please don't be angry. It's all in the past now; look at me, I'm doing fine."
Upon hearing his nephew's words, Lu Yong's anger subsided slightly, but he couldn't help letting out a long sigh. After a while, he finally calmed down completely and said softly, "That's good to hear."
At that moment, Lin Feng's gaze inadvertently fell on the broken chair, and he felt a pang of regret. Just earlier, they had been discussing finances; now it seemed he would have to spend money on a new chair.
While Lin Feng was lost in his thoughts, Lu Yong seemed to see through him and patted his shoulder reassuringly. "Don't worry; I'll find a way to get you what you need tomorrow."
Lin Feng nodded gratefully, and the two continued chatting about family matters until they realized it was time for dinner. Lu Yong made himself at home and stayed to eat with Lin Feng.
The next day, several porters entered through the side gate carrying vegetables. These were the people Lu Yong had mentioned, disguised to avoid recognition.
In the small yard of the back garden where Lin Feng was waiting, he looked at them and asked, "How skilled are you all?"
"Reporting back to you, we are among the best in the military," they replied.
"Oh? In that case, let's have a little competition."
The group exchanged puzzled glances. They thought that since the Grand Commander had sent them to help his nephew and they wouldn't need to return afterward, they might as well follow him. After a moment of silent agreement among themselves, they decided: let’s give him a good beating—just enough to satisfy the Grand Commander without killing him.
In the blink of an eye, several people surrounded Lin Feng. Neither side wielded weapons. A faint breeze swept through, carrying an air of tension that felt almost lethal.
With a loud shout, two of them charged at Lin Feng from either side, moving with incredible speed as their fists sliced through the air. However, Lin Feng remained calm and collected. He sidestepped effortlessly to avoid the left man's straight punch while simultaneously pulling his right leg back to evade the sweeping kick from the right.
In the next moment, Lin Feng stepped forward, thrusting both palms into the chest of the man on his left, sending him staggering back several steps. But the other six attackers surged forward at once. Lin Feng's gaze sharpened; his footwork became as fluid as a snake, weaving through the gaps in their assaults.
Seizing the opportunity, he spun around sharply, driving his elbow into one man's abdomen. The man let out a grunt and doubled over. Yet, the remaining soldiers were no pushovers; one of them launched a flying side kick aimed at Lin Feng's head.
Lin Feng leaned back, nearly grazing the ground as he narrowly avoided the strike. Then, with a powerful push off the ground, he propelled himself into the midst of the group like a cannonball, his hands moving rapidly to block and strike. For a moment, he was locked in a fierce battle with all eight soldiers.
The atmosphere in the arena reached a boiling point, filled with the dull thuds of fists and feet colliding and the heavy breaths of those involved.
Lin Feng shouted, "Bring it on!"
The attackers exchanged glances; they were all elite fighters in their ranks, yet they found themselves unable to overpower even a single Xiao Bai Lian. After a brief pause, one of them remarked, "Just now, I only used thirty percent of my strength."
