Lin Feng stood in a corner, carefully observing the group of people. He noticed that there were about a dozen of them, three of whom were mounted on horses. Although their physiques varied, each person appeared strong and bore fierce expressions, as if the very essence of banditry was etched into their faces.
Lin Feng thought to himself, these bandits are so brazen as to rob in broad daylight! He continued to watch them closely and realized that they lacked any martial skills, relying solely on their numbers. However, when he saw the long weapons in the hands of these thieves, his expression turned serious.
They were going from door to door, knocking loudly; if there was no response, they would kick the door down. The villagers seemed accustomed to this and obediently handed over their money and grain to the bandits.
Watching the thieves ransack house after house, Lin Feng returned to his courtyard, waiting for them to come his way. After a short while, there was a loud banging on the door that nearly shook it off its hinges.
Old Zhang, feeling a bit frightened, opened the door, ready to hand over the pork he had received yesterday along with the money he had made from selling it.
"Hmm? You old man have quite a bit of money?" Brother Three remarked. "This family is wealthy."
Old Zhang clearly hadn’t anticipated such a reaction; he obediently handed over the money, inadvertently attracting the attention of the bandits. The Third Leader approached with a swagger, holding a weapon loosely in his hand.
"Oh? Let me take a look," he said, glancing at the pile of money his men had collected and nodding in satisfaction. "This old man is quite sensible and has given up a fair amount. Next time, I’ll come to your house first."
Old Zhang was genuinely terrified by these words and nearly collapsed on the ground. Just as this group of bandits was about to turn and leave, they suddenly caught sight of two figures standing in the courtyard.
One was a young man with an impressive demeanor and outstanding presence; he stood tall like a pine tree defying the wind. Behind him was a petite girl whose figure could be seen faintly.
The moment the group of bandits caught sight of Lin Feng, their expressions varied dramatically.
Some displayed greedy looks, as if they had spotted a lamb ready for slaughter; others frowned tightly, seemingly wary of the person before them; while a few even curled their lips in a hint of disdain.
The Third Leader fixed his sharp gaze on Lin Feng, sensing that this man seemed to be someone of significance. With a sudden wave of his hand, he commanded, "Brothers, surround him!"
In an instant, the bandits sprang into action like hungry wolves pouncing on their prey, quickly encircling Lin Feng. Each of them brandished weapons, their faces twisted into fierce expressions as they glared at him with malice. The imposing aura they exuded clearly indicated their intention to swarm and eliminate Lin Feng without mercy.
However, faced with such a perilous situation, Lin Feng remained unfazed, his expression calm and steady. He let out a cold snort and with a flick of his wrist, Pei Jian was drawn from his waist, glinting ominously in the light.
In the next moment, Lin Feng's figure flickered as he executed several light and graceful steps, weaving through the crowd like a specter.
A series of anguished cries erupted as the bandits barely had time to comprehend Lin Feng's moves before they fell to the ground one by one. In just one strike, Lin Feng effortlessly dispatched this ragtag group with overwhelming force. His movements were as swift as lightning and as fierce as a whirlwind, leaving everyone stunned.
At that moment, aside from the leading bandit, all others lay sprawled on the ground in disarray, stripped of any fighting capability.
Hiding in a corner, Old Zhang and Xiao Fang watched in horror, their bodies trembling uncontrollably. Xiao Fang especially pressed her hands tightly over her mouth, terrified that she might scream out loud.
The surviving Leader of the Bandits, witnessing his companions fall in an instant, realized he had encountered someone formidable. His face turned pale as he fell to his knees with a thud, banging his head on the ground repeatedly while pleading pitifully for mercy:
