"Bring him up," a commanding voice echoed from above.
Lin Yu was led to the central circular platform. He could feel countless gazes upon him—some curious, some wary, and others filled with hostility.
"Lin Yu," an elder in a deep purple robe spoke, "do you know why you have been brought here?"
Lin Yu shook his head. "No." He truly had no idea! Shouldn't it be them asking him?
The elder sneered, "Feigning ignorance is not wise. The mark on your hand, along with the disturbance you caused in Starshine City, has already drawn our attention."
Another member, a middle-aged woman in a blue robe, chimed in, "According to ancient prophecies, the appearance of The Chosen One often heralds significant upheaval. We need to understand what your arrival signifies."
Just as Lin Yu was about to respond, he suddenly felt a wave of dizziness. The star map in the center of the hall blazed brightly, projecting a disturbing image: countless meteors streaked across the sky, the earth cracked open, and the heavens turned blood red.
"The Great Cataclysm..." one of the members gasped softly.
The image lasted for a few seconds before vanishing, but the atmosphere in the hall had become extraordinarily tense.
"It seems the prophecy is coming to pass," the elder in the purple robe said gravely. "The appearance of The Chosen One is indeed no coincidence."
At that moment, a young senator in a white robe stood up. "Perhaps we should look at this from another angle. Instead of viewing Mr. Lin Yu as a threat, we should see him as an opportunity. After all, the prophecy also mentions that The Chosen One could be the key to salvation."
Lin Yu looked at the young senator in surprise and noticed he was giving him a slight nod.
"Naive!" the elder in purple barked. "History tells us that The Chosen One often brings disaster! I propose we imprison him immediately until we ascertain his true intentions."
"I oppose!" the young senator in white retorted immediately. "This is a violation of basic human rights!"
A heated debate erupted in the hall. Lin Yu stood at the center, feeling like a leaf caught in a storm. Just then, he noticed the mark on his wrist beginning to emit a faint glow.
Suddenly, the lights in the hall flickered. Lin Yu heard a familiar voice whispering near his ear: "Don't panic; we're working on a way to save you."
It was Xing Yu's voice! Lin Yu suppressed his surprise and remained calm.
The argument continued, but Lin Yu could no longer focus on it. He quietly observed his surroundings and noticed that several members had strange expressions—they seemed to be waiting for something.
At that moment, darkness suddenly enveloped the hall. Lin Yu felt someone grab his hand. "Follow me!"
It was Old Mo's voice. Without hesitation, Lin Yu followed, moving quickly through the darkness. He could hear chaotic sounds behind him:
"What’s happening?"
"The barrier has been breached!"
"Quick! Catch him!"
But it was too late. Lin Yu was pulled through a hidden passage and finally emerged from a secret door into the back alley of the council building. Xing Yu was waiting there, holding a glowing Rune Disk. "Hurry, the Teleportation Array can only hold for thirty seconds!"
The three of them stepped onto the Rune Disk, and in a flash of light, they found themselves in a secluded corner of Starshine City.
"Phew," Old Mo sighed in relief. "We finally made it out."
Xing Yu put away the Rune Disk, her expression serious. "But this is only temporary. The council won't let you go easily, Lin Yu. Especially..." She hesitated.
"Especially because of that prophecy, right?" Lin Yu asked.
Xing Yu nodded. "The prophecy of the Great Cataclysm has always been a taboo topic within the council. Some believe it to be nonsense, while others are firmly convinced of its truth. Your appearance has undoubtedly intensified this divide."
Old Mo patted Lin Yu on the shoulder. "Don't worry, kid. We'll protect you. But right now, we need to find a safe place."
Just then, a Phantom Spirit Fox suddenly leaped out from the shadows, holding a folded piece of parchment in its mouth.
"What is this?" Lin Yu took the parchment and unfolded it, discovering a complex map adorned with strange symbols.
Xing Yu leaned in for a closer look and her face changed dramatically. "This is... a map to the Star Relic!"
Old Mo also showed surprise. "Where did you get this?"
The Phantom Spirit Fox let out a proud yip and jumped onto Lin Yu's shoulder. It couldn't speak, of course, so it offered no answer.
"It seems our little friend has done something remarkable," Xing Yu said. "This map could be crucial. But..." She frowned, "I've never seen these symbols before."
Lin Yu examined the map closely and suddenly felt the mark on his wrist start to heat up again. Instinctively, he pressed his hand against one of the symbols on the map, and that symbol suddenly lit up.
"Oh my..." Xing Yu gasped, "These are ancient runes! Only The Chosen One can activate them!"
Old Mo's eyes lit up with excitement. "This means we might have truly found a clue to the Star Relic!"
At that moment, distant sounds of commotion reached them. Xing Yu's expression changed instantly. "It's the council! We need to leave quickly!"
The three of them dashed into a narrow alleyway. As they ran, Lin Yu asked, "Where are we going now?"
"To my safe house," Xing Yu replied. "It has enough protective measures. And..." She smiled mysteriously, "I have some things to show you."
Following Xing Yu through the maze of alleys, Lin Yu was filled with questions about the council, prophecies, and relics... What did it all mean? He glanced down at the mark on his wrist and felt that his fate was becoming increasingly intertwined with this mysterious world.
Xing Yu's safe house was located underground in Starshine City and accessed through a hidden passageway. When the heavy stone door closed behind them, Lin Yu finally felt a sense of relief wash over him.
The safe house was much larger than he had imagined; it resembled a small library combined with a laboratory. The walls were lined with shelves filled with various ancient texts and scrolls. In the center of the room stood a massive workbench cluttered with strange instruments and glowing rune devices.
"Welcome to my secret base," Xing Yu said, waving her hand. The runic lights in the room lit up one by one, casting a soft glow that illuminated the entire space.
Old Mo looked around, nodding in approval. "It's a nice place. The security measures are well in place."
Xing Yu smiled and turned to Lin Yu. "Now, let's take a look at this map." She spread the map out on the workbench and activated several runic devices. Instantly, symbols on the map began to glow, projecting a three-dimensional holographic image.
Lin Yu watched in amazement as the flat map transformed into a three-dimensional topographic representation, with mountains and rivers clearly visible. Some special symbols hovered in the air, slowly rotating.
