The call ended, and Ke Wenjie stared at the black screen of his phone, silently cursing that wretched woman—a dead man's wretched woman—who dared to speak to him like that. What was she but a money-grubbing bar girl? What right did she have to act superior?
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. In front of him, Tong Le snatched back her phone and spoke up, "You need to handle the investment fraud issue immediately. With that, Tong Le turned to leave.

Ke Wenjie was left speechless, while Zhang Huizhi could only rage helplessly. "You're talking nonsense! What do you mean we set a trap for you? Tong Le, you're slandering us! If you're going to lie, at least have some conscience!"
Tong Le turned sharply toward Zhang Huizhi with cold determination in her eyes. "You’ve caused your son to be unable to afford a normal home. The Tong Family's money has all been squandered by you. Your son can only continue living in a dormitory. But that's minor; first, get my twenty million back. Otherwise, I’ll report you."
With that, Tong Le walked out of the courtyard.
Zhang Huizhi was so furious that she felt a sharp pain in her chest and collapsed onto the ground, throwing a tantrum. "This is outrageous! My daughter-in-law wants to kill me! I can't live like this anymore! If the fraudsters don't kill me, my daughter-in-law will!"
Ke Wenjie stood frozen in place, his expression growing colder and more sinister as he silently plotted his next move.
He walked past Zhang Huizhi and ordered, "Get up; don’t make me more annoyed."
Zhang Huizhi glanced at him and realized he wasn’t in the mood for sympathy; she had no choice but to push herself up.
Feeling wronged, she said, "What should we do about that Investment Company? Do we expect them to return our money? And what about all those projects and funds you've secretly transferred out of Tongshan Real Estate over the years? If Tong Le investigates this seriously, what will you do? I'm still the legal person for your new company; what am I supposed to do?"
Ke Wenjie pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. He lit one and inhaled deeply while contemplating.
Zhang Huizhi grew anxious. "Son, do you have a plan?"
He flicked the cigarette butt onto the ground and took a deep breath before saying, "Let's bring Dad into the city in the next few days."
Zhang Huizhi replied nervously, "Why would you want that disaster-bringer here? He’ll only cause trouble!"
Ke Wenjie said firmly, "Tong Le is not the same as before. Although I can't figure out where things went wrong, I know that I can't go on with her."
Zhang Huizhi seemed excited. "Are you finally coming around? Are you thinking about divorce?"
His eyes were cold and resolute. "Divorce would bring too many complications; it would be very disadvantageous for me. I can't wait for Tong Le's child to be born either. For the sake of the Ke Family's future and my own plans ahead, only if Tong Le disappears from this world completely can I remain safe."
Zhang Huizhi was somewhat confused. "What do you mean? You're not getting divorced? How will we let Lan Qingqing come in then?"
Ke Wenjie replied coldly, "Only by becoming a widower can all conflicts and problems be resolved."
